I understand that argument and I even agree to a point - if we are talking about Calzaghe's career as a whole. But puttting up the criticism now, well I find that a bit strange.

I mean, he takes on the biggest fight possible. He seem willing to travel for it. His opponent clearly states himself that he wants the fight wherever it makes the most money. That will be in Cardiff. They agree to fight in Cardiff.

So why the criticism now? It is not like he is dodging the best, or staying home to fight some tv-celebrity or something.

    Whar r u on about?

there were only TWO big fights out there, hopkins and RJJ..

And it is an absolute FACT jope signed his contract tofighthopkins for less than what hopkins was getting paid it was HOPKINS AND HOPKINS alone that wanted double the $3 he and don king first agreed upon (this was to fight joe right after he had just beat tito)

Asforroy jones... there has never been a source i have seen that says Jope wnated the same as RJJ, if u wanna listen to VD's crap, thats fine.. live your life with your head in the sand...

Just to shut some people up 2 fights outside of England and Wales do not count as venturing out.

Had to have their way? Your badly clued up if you think that's the case infact your so badly clued up i find it embarrassing that your our assistant News Editor really..
Joe was 100% up for going to Denmark for this but both sides found common ground and agreed it was financially more beneficial to both parties to use Cardiff.
Joe's fought and won abroad twice before also so he does have balls after all and i've never heard Joe whine about anything other than the hand he beat 40 odd men with over a ten year undeafeted reign with.
You did this after Hatton v Castillo Dax and your doing it again fella, you seem to have some problem with UK fighters doing well for sure.
The question is why? I can't honestly work you out.
I think i'm speaking for a lot of the UK fellas here but the deal is mate i got the b*lls to put it on you fella and speak my mind.
Sometimes your attitude fails you big time.

This fight is sure firing the imagination and I just hope that when these two guys get in the ring it will prove to be as good as it is anticipated. As I have mentioned before I believe that Calzaghe needs this fight to be one of the crown jewels of his career, as he goes in to what is the defining few years of his career. I think the fact that he has been sparring with Enzo Maccarinelli before Macca's fight shows that he is taking the threat of Kessler's power seriously, and that he is also fairly comfortable with his hands at the moment.

We've got months to go until this one, but I really can't wait to see it happen.

I understand that argument and I even agree to a point - if we are talking about Calzaghe's career as a whole. But puttting up the criticism now, well I find that a bit strange.

The point is even when he takes on the toughest opponent of his career he still does it all on his terms. Dont be naive and even think he was ever going to travel.

The bigger names in boxing have always done things on their terms... look at mayweather, p4p #1 yet he fought de la hoya at his weight, in his ring with his gloves...

This fight couldn't happen in denmark, and no one, not even Kesslers team would want ti in some tupid place.. lets be honest, if palle couldn't front it and warren had to, then cardiff is the only place to do so, both fighters are egtting massive amounts of money, and cardiff is really the only place to bring in such crowds to gererate the amount of cash needed to stage this...

Everything you are saying is fillied with biased and speculative opinions and for a factual bases disscusion is quiet frankly bullshit.

But what does Kessler bring to the table apart from his unbeaton record and his two belts? There both on HBO right now but im certain Warren has more bargaining tools with Calzaghe than Palle has with Kessler when it comes to HBO, also theres tv, British tv brings far more income than the Danish networks, man that statement is flawed, Cazlaghe was willing to travel for $5 million, he went over to Germany ( ok it was Veit but we all know what Germany is like) because it was a big payday. But Palle cant generate $5 million a piece in Denmark, Kessler is coming to the lions den becuase he is getting paid more than he has ever and will probably ever get paid.

I got a feeling after this if Winky overcomes Hopkins it will be Joe v Winky in Cardiff again, i suppose Joe again will be called a chicken shit etc etc for not travelling, but the most money for both fighters will be in Wales.

I think you could argue Hopkins ducked him but RJJ not to sure about that. It's all about ego's and each fighter wantd things to be on there terms.

The stupid thing about your argument is that if any of the big american names had used the excuse that they bring more to the table so Joe should come fight them in america on their terms u would straight away say they are ducking Joe, and are scared of him.
Yet when Joe does it to Kessler u say it is the right thing to do. I think someone is being a hypocritical fanboy.

So when has Cazlaghe been offered big bucks to go to America? he offered Hopkins $6 million to figth him he agreed then at the 11th hour wanted double, if Calzaghe was offered $6 million he would swim to the States to fight anyone of the top boys, but the money isnt there for Calzaghe he aint that much of a name in the States to generate that moeny, but the money is there 60 thousand fans mate aswell, how many fans in Vegas would watch Hopkins v Calzaghe you would be lucky to get 10 thousand.

6 million. Wow. Come next week it'll be 15 million. Hopkins was never offered 6 million. It was 2.5 million. Hopkins asked Calzaghe for 6 million to make the fight happen. Calzaghe said no. Hopkins takes 10 million and fights De La Hoya.
