    I'm going to bite.

Diving in football is shit. Every Englishman thinks so. We are fairly well known for doing it less than others (although it is creeping in to our game). The game can still be great though.

Country of sissies because we like football? Have you seen rugby? 200-300lb men smashing the hell out of each other with no pads. They are properly hard men. Not demeaning American Football as I enjoy that too and its apples and oranges, but don't be so ignorant.

And you do understand the football is the MOST popular sport in the world, EVERY year. All around the world. Europe, Central America, South America, Africa, large parts of Asia it is the number one sport. It's just ignorant North Americans like you that don't know that. You might not like it but it's a fact.

We kind of cant argue with what we got. I for one simply wanted to end a game knowing that the players on the pitch gave it a good go and they did. Technical shortcomings aside we tried and save for a massive slice of good fortune we'll be out at the group stage. Defensively poor, still no one willing to take responsibility for passing the ball through the middle third of the pitch and no real movement up front. The youngesters acquited themselves well. Didnt quite go for Sterling last night but he tries to make things happen and he scared Italy to death. Barkley will come good I'm sure. All the focus was on Rooney, he delivered a performance. Question marks over Gerrards place for me, I really dont see what he offeres England. The raking 40 yard balls seldom come off, he doesnt pose any real attacking threat and he doesnt have the will/skill to dictate from the middle, he's a passenger for me.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Lineker is wearing an Italkian top today, not helping. Neither is Balotelli.

Utterly crushing. Well played Costa Rica though.

To cheer myself up I just want to say that UK/England -

Most Formula One World Champions out of any nation in history.

Rugby team that has reached 2 of the last 3 world cup finals (and will win the next!).

Cricket team that until recently was number one in the world and won 4 of last 6 Ashes.

3rd in medals table in last Olympics, 4th in the one before that.

Last two Tour de France Winners from Britain.

    Current Men's Wimbledon champion.

Not to mention our rowers, track cyclists, sailors etc.

Britain = Jacks of all trades - masters of a fair few.

There we go, that's me banging the patriot drum.

Best of luck to Costa Rica and the USA going forward.
Also to Canada, although I think it's scandalous that not one of there games have been shown on TV yet!

It's gotta be rough for you guys, it's not like you shit the bed, things just didn't your way. Italy got by on luck, and Costa Rica punching well above their weight and then of course the Suarez show.

It's bad luck for England but by the next Euros they'll be ready to challenge I am sure (especially if Woy is gone)

Well I think we have shown more promise WITH the ball (87% pass completion vs Italy, 82% vs Uruguay) which is unheard of for our style of play, but we have looked more fragile at the back than in my lifetime. So maybe we sacrificed one for the other. But there is hope going forward. Roy is a good man, plays the media expertly, but to be true winners we need a winner as a manager.

I like the US team, hope they do well. Won the first game not playing well so I think they have a gear or two to go. As long as they have a go and play to potential I'm sure the US fans will accept that.

It can't be understated how key it is for Bradley to have a strong showing, he had a bad game against Ghana and the midfield got decimated. Hope he finds his legs for this match.

Bar Jermaine Jones who had himself a fucking MATCH!

The game will find Bradley, he'll be alright he just can't force his way into it. I reckon it's Wondo or Johansson who needs the big game helping Dempsey out.

Not really surprised at going out early. I think Walcott and Oxlade Chamberlain were big misses but ultimately we just weren't quite good enough Hopefully that's the end of Gerrard. There's the makings of a decent team in there with the likes of Ox, Sterling, Barkley.

Ah well. Gonna jump on the US bandwagon now and support this wonderful man
