Rigo has never fought anyone he can't hit, control the pace or distance. Totally bemused from the start.

3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Would have been the same outcome if the weight wasn't an issue, Loma wasn't busting him up, his punched weren't exactly concussive.
Rigo just didn't want it, as they said on boxnation, 300 fights and you mean to say he's never hurt his hand before
I have to agree. Rigo trained for the fight. But I didn't see any of that when he got to the ring. Let's say that hand was 60 percent of his game. I still don't feel like I saw 40% of what he was capable of. The weight wouldn't have made a difference. Especially when Loma froze him in place when he got inside. Considering the were other fighters that fight and won other fights by landslides with one hand, Rigo just looked disinterested. Which would've have looked like a fluke.. If we didn't see Sosa and Walters do the same.

They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Lomo was to big and had Rigos number a fight for the purist you could see Rigo getting frustrated a master boxer being outclassed by a grand master, I got up to watch this fight I enjoyed it while it lasted.![]()
Being almost inactive the past two years was a significant factor for Rigo too. The injury may not have happened otherwise
Loma has a great future in Boxing and has superb footwork.
Only issue was the huge size difference..where does Loma go from here.?
One of the most telling things was when they cut to Lomas dressing room before the fight and he was showing the ref exactly how Rigo would hold him and pin his hands by the side, Loma asked the ref if he could barge his head into Rigo's chest to get him off.
30 seconds into the fight and the Rigo did exactly as Loma said he would
It was a bad fight really wasn't it? Lomachenko did what he had to do, but it wasn't as meaningful as some seemed to think. Rigo was old, small and inactive and that tends to be a handicap too far. Rigo just didn't seem to know what to do and gave up as far as I could see. Can't blame him really, but he is the one that signed up for the fight. Lomachenko is good but he should really focus on fighting people his own weight. The size difference was a bit silly. I thought hitting after the bell was a dick move to make as well. He was winning the fight handily and didn't need to do that. Rigo should probably have a couple more and then retire. Lomachenko should fight Golovkin.

Quick question on the size difference. In what way did the size difference mean that Rigo was at a considerable disadvantage? Im not saying he wasnt, just curious as to how people think that manifested itself in the fight.
Loma's what, 1.5 inches taller with a shorter reach?
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
Charley Burley
Just over 3 inches, though with a 3-inch shorter reach.
Quite a difference but it was also about Loma being more versatile rather than just a defensive sharpshooter, which is how I've always seen Rigo.
That was never going to be enough against an equal, especially a bulkier one.
