I had it 8 rds to 4 for hopkins but it was a close fight and the I gave many of the close rounds to hopkins cause i flt he was slightly more effective, some of the rounds were very close though so 117-111 seems off but from ringside many or all of those rounds could have all gone to Hopkins. Good win for Hop but he should retire and Winky looked like sh@t at 170 so he could go back down but I think Manny Steward had it right when he said they should both retire.

CC Miles. Winky just looked like the headbutt took him outta his game early. He was flustered and looked like he just wanted to get the fight over with. He took some good shots from Bernard, overall it was not a good fight though, but not too bad. Bernard gets to add another win over another great fighter to his resume and Winky get more money and another decision to bitch about. Winky is not going to get to fight Oscar I can tell you that, so he needs to get that out of his head. He might get the winner of Pavlik vs. Taylor though.

    Click right back Hulk.

Bernard was rough but if Winky wasnt expecting some rough and tumble then he signed a fight with the wrong guy. Instead of trying to regroup Winky continued to complain and Hopkins took advantage of it. Winky was way out of his weight range and B Hop didnt feel as though Winky could hurt him. I think this is one clear reason we saw Hopkins throw more punches and indeed more combinations than in previous fights. He didnt let his hands throw many combinations in either fight with Taylor.

Winky should clearly move back down. As for Hopkins, well, that is anybodies guess. Ive been suggesting retirement for a couple of years now but he keeps coming back and winning!!

I don't like the man..... but Hopkins is a legend in talent.

If Winky can't make him look bad...
I think boxing scribes are going to have to dig deeper for opponents .... I mean back to the 50's.

I'm sure Wacko had a great night.

I wasn't keeping score too good but b-hop seemed to have won, he might not have outlanded winky, but his size and strength was a big factor, when he landed on winky he hurt him. That wins rounds, particularly in Vegas. I'd love to know the punchstats.

I didnt like Winkeys attitude form the very beginning when theis fight was made, ipicled him becasue i thought he would outwork Bernard, but Wright was saying hes can still make 154 in te build up was an indication he wasnt to confident.

Its been a crazy year for boxing. Glad to know I finally got a correct prediction. I found the fight intersting...not great...but interesting. B-Hop was just more than Winky could handle at that weight class. Should B-Hop retire? Nahhhh...I think he still has a few fights left in him. For Winky, he should take and accept the loss and move back to 160. He lost admirably.

Well, as Calzaghe's sorted in November, I guess the earliest that could happen is in the spring, and would fit with Hopkins' form in fighting once a year.

It wasnt a barnburner, but IMO it was a very interesting fight because of who the fighters were and the variables at play.

I watched it first thing this morning so wouldnt mind watching it again.

    You are in South Africa?!

    CC right back fella

Im glad B Hop got it too. I was nervous beforehand because we all know how fighters can age in a fight. But he looked just fine. It was close but he won it by a couple of rounds. Perhaps more depending on how biased you are.

Sounds like you are having a ball out there. Enjoy!!

Winky sent out the wrong signal for a while with regards to this fight. Saying he wants De La Hoya, saying he is only going to stay for 1 fight, that regardless of what happens,he's going to 154/160,that's where he belongs. In the fight,he was complaining alllll the way through despite openly stating that he knew B Hop was dirty(why was he so acting so surprised in the fight>?)

Winky also didn't look in the usualy excellent shape he is in,he looked real soft around the stomach. I was way off with my prediction for this fight,I thought Winky would outwork B Hop but man that Hopkins is one wise, ageless, skilled, veteran. I was slightly dissappointed by Wright.
