He has never travelled anywhere chasing a big fight.
I understand that argument and I even agree to a point - if we are talking about Calzaghe's career as a whole. But puttting up the criticism now, well I find that a bit strange.
I mean, he takes on the biggest fight possible. He seem willing to travel for it. His opponent clearly states himself that he wants the fight wherever it makes the most money. That will be in Cardiff. They agree to fight in Cardiff.
So why the criticism now? It is not like he is dodging the best, or staying home to fight some tv-celebrity or something.
The point is even when he takes on the toughest opponent of his career he still does it all on his terms. Dont be naive and even think he was ever going to travel.
But what does Kessler bring to the table apart from his unbeaton record and his two belts? There both on HBO right now but im certain Warren has more bargaining tools with Calzaghe than Palle has with Kessler when it comes to HBO, also theres tv, British tv brings far more income than the Danish networks, man that statement is flawed, Cazlaghe was willing to travel for $5 million, he went over to Germany ( ok it was Veit but we all know what Germany is like) because it was a big payday. But Palle cant generate $5 million a piece in Denmark, Kessler is coming to the lions den becuase he is getting paid more than he has ever and will probably ever get paid.
I got a feeling after this if Winky overcomes Hopkins it will be Joe v Winky in Cardiff again, i suppose Joe again will be called a chicken S*** etc etc for not travelling, but the most money for both fighters will be in Wales.
