I've tried to take the leave decision with good grace. Indeed, today at work I was polite and conciliatory with those who voted the other way, and sympathized with those who felt, like I do that we'd made a big mistake.

So, with that in mind, I'm really letting rip here, where I know y'all have thick skins and won't get offended by a few strong words.

But seriously, are 52% of my countrymen complete fucking morons?

Already today, the economic repercussions are being seen across the country and beyond. The value of our top 100 companies dropped by over 3%, while countries around the world saw drops in their values of even a higher proportion. Petrol prices are rising inversely with the drop in the value of the pound, as petrol is traded internationally in USD. So, even more expensive to get around. On a personal level, I wasn't best pleased to log in to my pension account to see several percent knocked off the overall value in one fucking shitty day.

Plus, on top of that, as I work in mortgages, even our managers were talking about the risks to our department going forward. Inevitably with the devaluation of our currency, imports are going to be more expensive meaning that inflation will be rising faster than it has in years. Hey, guess what, the government's own body, the MPC, is tasked with keeping inflation at under 2%, so within the year we'll be seeing interest rates increased after a great period of stability to try and keep inflation down within their mandated targets. As interest rates go up, mortgages are not quite as affordable as they were, and less people are buying them. Brilliant, add to the economic issues and the losses to my pension, jobs may become at risk if there isn't as much demand.

There are certainly industries that may benefit from being out of the EU - the EU fishing quotas and allowing countries to breach territorial waters for fishing was ridiculous. Plus, David Cameron is an absolute tool and must be regretting promising to call a referendum now. This was a decision that should be taken in parliament, especially with the clauses that were already in law to bring a referendum if there was constitutional change in the EU anyway. Cameron's arrogance is what gave us the months of propaganda and constant claims and counter-claims, often with both sides lacking evidence.

This morning Nigel Farage was backtracking on the promise for increased funding for the NHS...less than two hours after the Brexit was confirmed. Plus there were plenty of people who admitted on radio and TV that they voted leave, but never thought that leave would actually win, and then regretted it. Immigration fearmongering and an inability to fact check anything from the press all have their crosses to bear for this decision.

Seriously, we are a country of fucking morons.
