Hairdoo - You are WRONG . Barrera met Manny at featherweight not Superbantam . Check Boxrec

the_answer - I never said Barrera was past his prime when he lost to Pac . It was an off night . He just wasnt himself that night . The idiots wrote him off and said he was past his prime but he proved them wrong as he will again . You are right Pac is no Nas . Nas was undefeated whereas Pac has been k.o'd a couple times . Plus he was naturally bigger than Barrera . Erik has a stronger chin than Barrera ? Thats why when they met Barrera is the one who scored a knockdown .

Wacko - Keep calling me blind but maybe ive seen something you havent . Dont be deluded here . Pac was beating a warmed up corpse last night . Its all he's done since the Barrera fight . You think Barreras guna stand in punching range and employ suicidal tactics like Morales ? No way mate . Barrrera proved last time the difference between being focused and not focused against Juarez . Why do ya think the 1st one was so hard but the second 1 was easy . I respect your opinion but I do think its silly for you to write off a great like Barrera

Icecoldboxing - Maybe fluke is the wrong wording judging by how youve interpreted it . Off night is where things just didnt happen . He had an offnight against Juarez but it didnt mean he was past his prime . He put it right here in the return so he can do it again . How do you justify the reasons why he did so better in the return against Rocky ? Its easy cuz he was focused the second time and wasnt in the 1st fight . Same story with Pac

You could be right mate CC as I say time will tell but the reason I think Barrera can pull it off is cuz Eriks style flattered Mannys strengths . Erik was standing in punching range , his defence was open and he was coming off a couple losses . Barrera however will be at a distance , have a water tight defence and he isnt coming off several losses . His ramrod jab will be in Mannys face and it will remind him of teh Marquez fight where he couldnt get to work .

    Heres to a good fight

PAC broke his left hand thats why JMM manage to have a draw...
"Barrera vs. PAC I" and "Juarez vs. Barrera I" You said it was Barrera's off night.
I'm wondering how many off nights will Barrera have in his career. What if "Barrera vs. PAC II" is also an off night for Barrera. LOL .Are you saying Barrera can only be defeated when its his off night. LOL.
Maybe the PAC-JMM fight was PAC's off night... what do you think

I'll keep saying your blind if you keep on making assumptions about what I say in one post.

I have stated in the past everywhere & elsewhere that I think Marquez & Barrera are the best Mex-men out there...but the fact is...JMM stood up to Pac the best & that is the fight that needs to be seen the most.

Pac shut Barrera out & Pac is now the man that runs the division...not Barrera.

All roads end at Pac for boxers & for fans now. He has made his statement & like him or not, fan of him or not, it's time everyone faced that fact.

As far as your statements about Pac fighting corpses...that's a joke. Morales wasn't a corpse, Marquez wasn't, nor was Larios. I don't write off anyone...I give them a shot...but the one who I give the shot the most too would be Marquez.

Barrera, in all reality, does not deserve the second chance...he got his ass handed to him the first time. Marquez got up & gutted it out like a warrior & won the match...bring on the rematch.

    I agree with that, CC...

A second MAB: Pac fight will be a much tighter affair...It would be a safety first fight for MAB. No way would he adopt the sterategy Morales did this last weekend. Not a chance in hell. It would very well go the distance, no blow outs in 3 on this methinks!

Alright, this debate has gotten into the nerves of many people here including our gracious host Wacko so let me try to help out a bit. I can't believe you're still arguing this simple mathematic question. Let me try to put some sense to this. Ok, class, where shall we start. We'll start with the Juarez - Barrera fight. I analyzed this fight in the Wacko's J-B thread and I said that Juarez was not yet a first class fighter, though pretty good one, and that Barrera was having one of his off-nights. I said that if Barrera fought from the outside and kept Juarez at bay with his jabs and straights, he'll do fine, which he did despite my doubt. But Pacman is no Juarez, period! It's almost unfair to pit Barrera, who at around 33(?) years of age, has definitely lost some of his speed, power and stamina, against Pac who most probably has reached the peak of his power. Unlike Juarez, Pac can gobble up all the jabs of Barrera while giving him at least three of his power shots in return. Now here's your assignment: how long can Barrera take this at his age? Let me give you a clue: Erik can take only 3 rounds of it. Alright students, do your calculations, and if don't know your 'ritmatic, then get youself a calculator, and come back with your answer and if you got it right, I'll give you a star + just like in the grade school...

...How long can Barrera take that considering Eric can take only three rounds of those? I don't know but definitely it won't be for 11 long rounds like the first time when Barrera was stronger and when Pac's power had not yet reached its peak. I hope it's clear enough. Naw, I know it's impossible to argue with fans.

    ...BUT...

agreed pac has really got me hooked now he has power speed excellent fighter and i feel hed be way too much for barrera but i would like to see barrera vs pac rematch to be honest maybe not his next fight but sometime in the future
(alright Ice cold boxing, you'll most likely get to see this fight)
...continued ...But no matter what logic we use, it's the fans who decide what fight they want and since there are lots of fans wanting this fight, no matter how we feel, it probably will happen (boy, fans can be cruel to the very ones they idolize and love). Though, I really doubt if Barrera wants this fight, he probably has no choice coz Pac is the number contender. But the more important reason would probably be 'the lure of fortune would simply be irresistable' - this might give Barrera and Pac their biggest paycheck yet... on the other hand, it might not happen considering the feud between Uncle Golden Boy and Uncle Bob. We shall see soon enough.

    Nice posting, CC

Im not dissing pac in any way, shape nor form and nor would I do it to you of all people!!

But I just think that Morales is obviously not the fighter he was and his strategy was very, very wrong....Pac looked so great because Morales was not as good as he has been in the past. Pac has improved but Morales has declined and at the same time fought the worst possible fight strategically.

Barrera is able to box and resist a brawl. Larios took Pac 12 rounds and he was a smaller guy. He was thoroughly outboxed but he doesnt have the skills Barrera possesses. Barrera with the right strategy can make it a very competitive fight.

It will be tougher than beating a Morales who has been out nearly a year and came back against the same guy he stopped him last time out...

If I say he was not that serious with Larios, you wouldn't believe me, of course. CC back to you, brod, no problem with me.

I said earlier in this thread that Morales would lose fast
Your never the same fighter after you go through it like he did with Barrera..Never!
Pacman imo is now the most exciting fighter in the world bar none
    Pure entertainment in EVERY fight.

Well if you wana see Pac - Marquez 2 then you are in the minority cuz the rest of the boxing world wants to see the Barrera rematch

As for fighting corpses , I cant understand why you refuse to accept Erik is done . What more proof do you need . Pacs been fighting fighters on the way down , like Larios and Morales . Like it or not thats a fact . He hasnt mixed it with a live opponent for a while and when he did I felt he lost to Marquez

As for Barrera not deserving a rematch ? He's the world champ ! He calls the shots . Since Nov 03 Barrera has unified world titles winning everything . Pac failed in his attempt against JMM and a loss to Morales followed so he is in a position of working his way back up which he has done in many peoples eyes by beating Erik . But all i'm saying is dont read too much into that cuz Erik was done a year ago and it will be a different story entirely when he faces Barrera

I hope we see MAB Pac2 just to end all these arguments. I'll add my opinion in saying I can see both sides of the coin.....

Pac did thrash MAB the first time and I think, since he has improved since then whereas MAB has fought nowhere the same level of competition, that Pac would be hot favourite in a rematch.

HOWEVER,I do believe, being a big MAB fan, that defintely was not the same MAB that night. The training camp disruption due to the forest fire, metal plate in his head, split from long time manager plus a bit if underestimation on his part would lead one to believe that it certainly was NOT the best of MAB BUT.....

The way which he got beaten, when he realised that he could not war with the younger man,he did try to box a bit and Pac whooped him even more. The manner of the beating coupled with the fact that MAB has not been to war properly for a long long time and I don't think he would be able to hold off Pac leads me to believe that Pac would batter him again but I'd like to be wrong and I would certainly be cheering for MAB if the fight were to occur.

As an MAB fan,I remember how much he struggled with Juarez the first time, and Pac is better than Rocky in every catgeory. Secondly, YES,MAB did outbox Rocky the second time but Juarez does not apply anywhere near the same amount of pressure as Manny and I don't think it is possible to fight Pacquaio without engaging in some toe to toe at some stage. I don't see MAB jolding him off with just a jab and a few hooks,no way.
