He's definitely on the slide, but he looked better tonight that I thought he would. I fully expect Margarito to blow him out if they make the rematch.

He said it is his thumb he can't make a fist. The pain goes up his arm through his wrist he gestured.

If he's being truthful about his retirement, I hope Mayorga the best. He has been real entertaining since he hit the spotlight.

If Mayweather ever makes a comeback, It'll be against Cotto.

I'm pretty sad to see Mayorga retire. Hopefully he got a decent payday tonight and not the 50k some people have speculated.

It looked like it was a better fight than Martinez. I'm going to watch it now.

50K? perhaps that's after all the payouts. The house was full so I'd think he'll pull in a lot more.

Hmm, even in victory you are still frothing at the mouth and have even aquired a touch of the gay.

Once again Mayorga was in an entertaining fight. Sure, Cotto won the bulk of the rounds, but Mayorga at 37 and without a big win to his name in years was more than able to hold his own in certain key exchanges. Did you not see the betting odds? Anything less than a Cotto win would have been a huge upset. If it wasn't for the hand Mayorga would have gone 12 and Cotto would once again have looked less than impressive at 154. A younger Mayorga with the stamina to fight 3 minutes a round would have messed Cotto up quite badly. Cotto is too small to make a real dent in the big guys.

Mayorga has retired and fair play to the man. He went out exchanging and at the end was man enough to say enough is enough. He has never done less than entertain and though hardly an ATG, he has certainly managed to provide a lot of thrills for the fans.

funniest shit was the only thing that ross talked about leading into this fight was that Cotto was a quitter and Mayorga was gonna force him to quit, ohhh the irony
Mayorga won 4 rounds and hurt Cotto throughout the fight. He fought his heart out and tried to get Cotto into a brawl but Cotto knew better and chose to box and run and jab.

After that, Mayorga came out in the 12th knowing he needed a knockout and was behind, got caught with a great hook, then proceeded to shit and piss all over everything he did tonight and QUIT.

Absolutely heartbreaking and disheartening to watch.

Mayorga failed. Again. For the last time.

IF he had gone the distance then that would have been something. But NO, he chose to FUCKING QUIT...
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

    Did a quick search:
NOTES -- According to Nevada Athletic Commission figures, Cotto's purse tonight is $1 million while Mayorga's is $50,000. Mayorga is making $500,000 for the fight, but he owed his promoter, Don King, money from a lawsuit King had won against him a couple of years ago. ...

Congratulations to Miguel Cotto, I was right predicting a late KO. If this clown Mayorga did not pull this pathetic stunt in the 12th, Miguel could have easily stopped him just as I expected.

Ninety-nine out of a hundred, the one with but a puncher's chance goes home empty- handed. In this case far worse... Mayorga goes home an ugly loser with his manhood finely tucked behind his tail.

Yep, iv got no excuses. I thought hed wipe the floor with Cotto. I thought hed be too big and strong. I was recently watched figths of his from like 8 years ago where hes just a brawling machine that consistantly throws punches from everywhere. What we saw tonight was a 38 year old, semi retired, hesitant and somewhat tired fighter extend Cotto in to the 12th. Had this fight have happened 8 years ago I still believe the outcome would have been what I thought was going to happen.

Although Mayorga made weight comfortably, he seemed to lack any energy and wanted to sit and fight off the ropes rather than pressure and use his strength which was how he would have won.

Dont get me wrong, Cotto didnt look shot to me, but he didnt do anything impressive. He just boxed, won the fight by jabbing wasnt super impressive against Mayorga.

Dude, The man just used his reasoning because he was obviously hurt. It may have looked like he quit because of the left but he wasn't out on his feet or anything like that. He was very coherent. Nothing about it was pathetic.
