Every Tyson loss is explained away by But he was past his prime....GET A CLUE Mike Tyson is HUMAN he would have lost to tons of fighters because stylistically Tyson was an easy match for well rounded fighters.


Who honestly was the BEST fighter Tyson beat? Old Larry Holmes? Scared Michael Spinks? one sided Frank Bruno? I am more impressed with his victories over Donovan 'Razor' Rudduck than any one else...and that was "outside his prime" so to speak. It's not his prime that ended but he changed styles from combination throwing pressure fighter to pure power puncher and both those suited him well though as a pressure fighter he could go the distance easier

Lyle respect you opinion. However when he fought Rudduck he had lost the discipline of boxing, hitting and not being hit, it was an exciting fight but only because Tyson was not avoiding the punches. He showed a great chin but he was awful at times and I am not saying it for convenience sake but he was passed it. Maybe it was the fire that had gone in him but he was not the same fighter.

Half the sad clicks I have received have come because of this thread although I have not sad clicked anyone myself because each have a right to their opinion and as long as you do not say that Lewis would KO Tyson in the first round I will respect your opinion, even if it is wrong.

It's all on the jab - if Lennox keeps Tyson at his range he wins the fight in a simmlar fashion that James Douglas did. If Tyson finds a way past the jab and catches Lewis then Tyson finishes it by KO.

The fight they had can not be used to judge what would have happended when they were both in there prime because Tyson was shot by then.

I just don't see Lewis being able to keep Tyson at range and avoid a the bombs for 12 rounds. Lennox had a tendancy to switch off for brief periods in fights and during one of those Tyson hits him and hurts him - fight over.

Surely it also depends on which Tyson turned up ? If Tyson used the head movement he had in his prime would he not be able to get passed the jab and then make Lennox pay ?

IM A MASSIVE TYSON FAN AND BELIEVE A PEAK TYSON OF 1988 WOULD HAVE KNOCKED A PEAK LENNOX LEWIS OUT WITH IN 3 ROUNDS. WHEN THE PAIR ACTUALLY MET IN 2002 LENNOX WERE'NT FAR PAST HIS PEAK BUT TYSON WAS PAST IT BUT STILL MANAGED 8 ROUNDS WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK

Had it been the Tyson we knew a few years before he fought Douglas, I do believe Tyson would DEFINITELY have won. I remember saying this when he lost to Lewis in '02.
