Over on Peter Manfredo's website, they were promoting a party where the fight was going to be broadcast on close circuit television. Admission was 50 dollars. Everytime I think of all those people sitting in their chairs at the monet lounge, I can't stop laughing.

I bet they were really pissed.

That wor a complete farce. But that's what generally happens when you put in a tv personality in the ring with a world champion boxer. Stoppage was a farce but i honestly couldn't see Manfredo getting off the ropes.

It's not Calzaghes fault that Manfredo is hyped up. It's Calzaghes fault he took the fight when there is Kessler, Taylor and Wright there to fight but i guess this fight made good business sense.

I understand that this was a frustrating night and a huge anti climax but it borders on stupidty for Manfredo, HBO commentators and pissed off americans to say Kessler will kill Calzaghe simply because they are pissed off for wasting their time watching this farce!!

I honestly think Kessler will get exposed by Calzaghe and when he does Calzaghe will be back to where he is now.......'supposedly over rated'

In the US people are just learning who Calzaghe and Kessler are so it makes sence Calzaghe wanted a showcase, I think he is gonna wait for Kessler to fight a popular US fighter before he takes him on so that when they fight each other the hype will be there. Good business move, bad move for a champion

This fight looked to be a huge mismatch from the beginning. Peter Manfredo has done absolutely nothing that qualifies him to step into the ring with Joe Calzaghe. But I don't blame Joe, it makes sense to step into the ring to fight people you know you can beat, and as long as people are willing to pay huge bucks to see you regardless of your opponent than why not take these types of fights. He added a "w" to his record, notched another title defense, and put a lot of money into his pocket and barely had to break a sweat to do it. All in all, a good night for Joe Calzaghe.

People have to realize if you don't want to continue seeing match-ups like this, than don't buy them or talk about them, otherwise they are going to keep happening. If people are willing to spend 50 bucks to watch the pay per view and spends hundreds of dollars to watch it live, than they're isn't any reason for boxers to step into the ring with true challengers. Why take the risk of fighting a guy who could possibly put you on your back, when you can make the same money fighting a glorified powerpuff girl?

People have to see the comedy in it all. When you really think about Manfredo and his in ring accomplishments or should I say lack there of for him to be in the ring with Calzaghe is just hilarious. They might as well gave me a pair of gloves and let me get in the ring, we had about the same chance. This just gets funnier and funnier by the minute.

Totally agree. I`m going to stick my head on the block here and say JC should get it on with Carl Froch. Froch is up for it, there`d be little problem getting it sorted. It would be a fight that if JC won (I don`t think he would) he`d gain more respect and creditability than tonight ie slapping a total underdog round the head a few times earning a premature stoppage (he wouldn`t have that LUXURY with Froch). However, my suspicion is that JC is fully aware of the threat Froch poses and this may stop the fight ever happening.

I don't give two shits what Joe or the promoters want...if they don't make the Kessler fight happen...anything else would be pointless.
