Agreed. Pac makes far too many mistakes.
Exactly. Pac wouldnt ever of stood and delivered like that. He would get caught moving around erratically by a gun.

    Cotto fought bravely.
That is such a lame analysis. I believe that Mayweather hadn't stepped up and fought Pacquiao earlier because Pacquiao used to be less predictable. Every fighter says nearly the same think that the angles is what troubled them. Pacquiao is a southpaw not the same as Cotto so you can't really apply because "Pacquiao is less technically sound he's a less effective than Cotto against a pure boxer like Mayweather". In fact, because Pacquiao's fighting technique not traditional it makes him more difficult to fight.
Pacquiao leaves many more openings than Cotto and doesn't fight as measured a pace, also Floyd fought at Cotto's weight, I really don't see Pacquiao bullying Floyd to the ropes at 147 nor trying to push him around and be physical.

If you watched this fight and try to say it shows Pacquiao would beat Floyd, I look at the Marquez third fight and say that Floyd would massacre Pacquiao

    "To each his own"

I certainly don't think Pacquiao would smash Floyd either, but If Floyd used the same strategy against Pacquiao using the same applied skills set he did against Cotto, Pacquiao would certainly win on points applying the same Judging as Cotto just got.

That aside I do think Mayweather Martinez would truly be intriguing like when Duran fought Hagler.
Im not discrediting Martinez its just the other guy, said based on Mayweather's fight tonight Martinez would beat Mayweather. Im just saying Martinez hasn't looked overly good in his last 2 fights, i don't think many people expected Barker, Macklin, to trouble Martinez as much as they did.

Fair play to Martinez he comeback in both fights, but i don't see anything in Martinez apart from the size that gives Mayweather any problems what so ever. Barker at times was busting up Martinez with solid jab and right hands, i honestly think Mayweather would beat Martinez handily.

And for the record i had Macklin/Sturm a draw.

Yes, you just have to laugh to keep from crying at score cards like Ledderman's and those judges.

I'd like to knock their fucking teeth out. Pieces of fucking shit...

Cotto fought the FIGHT OF HIS LIFE. I had it 7-5 for Mayweather, but due to close rounds 6-6 or 8-4 for Mayweather would also be conceivable.

9-3, and especially 10-2 are just a fucking fat cock slap in the face to the Herculean effort that Cotto put forth tonight.

I can see how that can be scored as a draw. As for Mayweather Martinez. I would give the edge to mayweather, however martinez did one thing that impressed the crap out of me, He outjabbed a fantastic jabber and consistantly landed hard right handed jabs. Mayweather as shown tonight as well as vs De La Hoya has a problem with jabs (to be fair all fighters have problems against good jabs) But that would give martinez an advantage in terms of keeping the fight at a distance.

Martinez would be massive against Floyd. He would look like what he is, a different weight.

And for anyone who says Floyd has a problem with jabs needs to check the stats!

In Floyd's last 7 fights before Cotto, his opponents have thrown a total of 1686 jabs, landing with just 204.

Ortiz threw over 30 jabs and landed 0.

In the last 3 rounds of the Del Hoya fight, he landed only landed 4 of 77 jabs on Floyd.

That was after 6 rounds and I had it the same at that stage.

You were like the commentators, only seeing Floyd's work, even when he missed with punches or they were blocked.

Martinez didn't look overly great vs Barker, Macklin, he had to rally vs Macklin as he was losing the fight.

I think Martinez would be throwing too many hard punches at odd angles that will hurt Floyd. Plus he has outrageous endurance. I think right now Floyd would be able to take that pressure. He was getting man handled by cotto IMO. I think the naturally bigger martinez would do the same to a greater extent.
