It was a workmanlike, gutsy and adaptive performance by Hatton, if a little unspectacular, Urango was like a brick wall, it was similar to the way he faught Ben Tackie, only a southpaw, he stuck and moved, and 119-109 on all scorecards is clinical, Clearly it was the 5th round (i think) scored for Urango, he sank in some unbelivable body shots, something Hatton has never come through. Urango and Njoudjo did themselves proud, I think that Urango v Njoudjo should be on the June 2nd card! That ain't gonna be a bad fight.

hahaha you guys make me LOL sometimes anyhooo CC for Wacko seing it as it was

Night guys i'll leave you to hate on a guy who got hurt by a body shot from an unbeaten fighter and won all but 2/3 rounds

i think your forgetting Hatton was in with a massive guy who would tired out any fighter with hattons style and lets face it Ricky wont need to hold Floyd because he'll be running to the other end of the ring

Urango was handpicked by Hatton. I was expecting a blow out by Hatton.

It's ok to be short with a short reach and not much of a jab if you wear out your opponent with left hooks to the body. But Hatton seems to spend all his time going for the head. This is OK with Juan freaking Urango but not against a better fighter.
WHAT THE FUCK HATTON A HEAD HUNTER? YOU'VE NEVER WATCHED A HATTON FIGHT IN YOUR LIFE OTHER THAN THIS ONE IF YOU THINK THAT.

    SweetPea...you & I very rarely disagree...or if we do...we don't verbalize it...that being said...I disagree.

Here's the thing...I don't think Hatton can beat Floyd...but...the way he fought tonight...he'll give him some issues...I was thoroughly impressed with his movement.

Seriuosly...Hatton looked fanstastic tonight...sorry...but if the kid fought like this alla the time...he'd have me as a fan...& I hate to jump ship & be a punk...but I'm a fan of Urango now. The bwoy did great against argueably one of the better or best top fighters @ 140lb.

Thrilled to gotdam death with this fight.

Great opponent for Hatton & great performance by Urango!!!!

Never again will I diss Urango. I was impressed. He took the best of what Hatton had to offer...surprised me. Proved me wrong & LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUV's being wrong!!!
I'm not even necessarily talking about Mayweather.
I think Floyd would destroy Hatton, but there's no shame in that. Floyd would destroy most guys. I think that any of the other good fighters at 147 would beat Hatton, and I think Corrales could beat him at 140 too.

Wacko, I respect your opinion on all things boxing, answer me this....

Don't you see a problem with a fighter who is short, doesn't focus on the jab, and doesn't focus on the left hook to the body??
Because that's what I see with Hatton. A guy is not tall or rangy, does not work the left jab or left hook to the body, and throws mostly left hooks and right crosses to the head, without major KO power. This seems like a recipe for disaster against a high-quality opponent.

All in all I think the Hatton Urango fight went pretty much as expected. He was never going to dent Urango but would always be a step ahead. Would have been nice if he cold have maintained the first 3 or 4 rounds until the end but he definately had some issues in there. I dont care what he says or whatever anyone close to him says he was struggling in there for the final quarter. Not sure why that was but they need to address it.

Also once again Billy Graham was less than inspiring with a fighters who was not having things all his own way...."Grab him Rick and lets go home"

    Matthew performed well though
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

I don't see him constantly attacking his opponent with left hooks to the body. He's winning with quantity more than quality. And he's not throwing jabs either. I am not impressed with Ricky Hatton. He is not deserving of a spot in the top 10 PFP in my opinion.

im seeing something in that hatton struggles in the later rounds lately. Let's be honest Urango wasn't considered to be a dangerous opponent for hatton. He was supposed to be a guy that hatton would look spectacular against, be able to gain confidence against, and set up the Castillo fight. Those looking for hatton to get better: there's no time left for it to happen. Maybe he shouldve thought about taking better care of himself between fights cause he doesnt have much left in the tank.

Hatton didn't look spectacular and I dont think he gained confidence. So this was a disappointing fight for him and those around him no matter what they say. Urango is tough and was game, but no way should Urango be able to hang with an elite boxer. Hatton just isnt an elite boxer

I've never been a Hatton fan (he's not on American TV enough). But he really impressed me tonight. I knew he was a grinder type fighter but he also moved really well.

One thing I really hate about him is that he clenches way too much. I know it's part of the strategy but it goes too far.
