Do they like seeing you get beat in sparring? If not, I should only spar when she isn't there.Originally Posted by means2184

I have yet to meet a girl who was willing to watch me spar or fight. You are a lucky man.Originally Posted by means2184

I also experience this problem of being accused of being egotistical and self centered. I think having some sort of ego is essential as well. You MUST be confident to get in the ring... who gets in the ring while thinking, "I don't have a shot, I'm just here to get my ass kicked"... especially in the amateurs where we don't get paid.
And self-centered... come on... I just don't want to make a fool of myself. It's like being an actor in a play and not rehearsing lines over and over again. That is insanity. However instead of just missing a line and perhaps blushing, we end up with our ass on the canvas and the ref stopping the fight.

there's a difference between confident and egotistical. My buddy at the gym thinks he is the next best thing since sliced bred..I mean come on..yeah, the boy's good, but ya know?
i rarely got my ass beat at my gym
mainly because i was sparring with 12 year olds![]()
conceded is bad ...but ego can drive a a man to do things for pride ...get up off the canvas or refuse to not ever not get up off his stool just to say look what i went through to do this ...ego will also keep someone in check alot of times and sometimes can be the reason you have morals as a man to stay good because you feel like your too good to say ,go smoke crack (lol extreme example because simple intelligence can keep u from doin that but u feel what i mean?)Originally Posted by sinity
we are all talkin about the same thing ...people who think there shit dont stink is not the way to be lol ...these r just my versions of ego ,every man should have some ego
Well my son isn't a boxer (damn it) but he does use boxing as cross training, you know hitting the heavy bag, jump rope, the mits, etc.
Well last weekend, some buddies and he decided to do some bar-b-q boxing. My son beats the first one up pretty good, then the second, and the third was a armature fighter, says hes been boxing for a while. Son knocks him out in the second round. Their all high school age. Any ways their were a bunch of girls there watching, buddies sisters friends. My son just went out with the third date, third girl. He thinks there is something to this thread.
if it wasnt for boxing i would still be a virgin.Originally Posted by Weebels

Ive never hit any one though, but sometimes i feel close to it if i dont know the person.
And with women i have quite a mouth on me the only thing i wont call them is a bitch or slut and for some reason they like itim not trying to make them like it, but they just do.
The other day this girl got mad at me at house party because she offered to make me a sandwhich since i said my drunk self said i was hungry. While she left to make it i toke off because i was feeling sick without telling her.(this was after she gave me her number)
The next day on saturday i saw her at another party she told me F U when i said hi, ever since then when she would come to what ever circle i was talking in i would tell her leave. lol. and she kept apologozing.
The BITCH wont stop calling me!!!Everyday she does
I really think its the boxing thing.....she's seen me fight
I sparred with 12 yr olds in karate class... and I did get beat.Originally Posted by The_One77

Its not about looking hard, or being a badass, but just having a passion for the training and sparring.
When i was a little kid in elementary i grew up in not the best part of town so i would constantly get into fights because i didnt know spanish and i looked like a white kid to hispanics...everyone wanted to test me.......so i started boxing/ martial arts to defend myself. Not because i started fights just because it was a rough neighborhood and you could expect to get into one walking to the store. Thats when my parents where young since then they both stayed in school and have degrees so by the time i was 16 we now live in a rich part of town. But i take pride in coming from the hoodOriginally Posted by Lightweight563
from my child hood growing up where i would practically see fights all the time is where i get my quick attitude
I owe my first threesome to boxing! The sport has been good to me.![]()
