Don't believe this crap about Oscar being a better fighter a few years ago.

He may have had a better style back then, but his hasn't faded except maybe in his desire. The other problem is that he is fighting out of his real weightclass...but he beat up on much smaller guys for years.

All of his talent/skills are still there.

But I would rather see the Mayweather Margarito fight. It means more for the welterweight division then the Golden Boy against the Pretty Boy

I cannot wait for this showdown! My favorite fighter is in the biggest fight of his life, and must defend his title. I'll admit last night, when I heard on ESPN the crap Mayorga was pullin, I was disapointed and pissed off a little. I know he is certainly not afraid of Oscar, and I kinda doubt he thinks he is gettin 6 million more dollars, so this leads me to believe it might very well just be another mind game, another tactic. I hope it is, even though it ain't gonna bother Oscar a bit. That whole apologizin to Oscar shat though is what really bothered me, it better be a tactic..

Oscar should win this fight if he goes to the body. Oscar has the superior skills, but his legs are suspect, and his head movement isn't what it used to be. Vargas is a better pure boxer than Mayorga, with less aggression, and he landed alot against Oscar. Mayorga has a better chin. Oscar's defense isn't what it used to be, and Mayorga doesn't fade as bad as Vargas does. So, the question is, can Oscar take Mayorga's punches? If he can, he wins easy. If not, we know what happens.

When was Oscar a better defensive fighter?

I don't think peopel should use the Sturm and Hopkins fight to gauge how good he is now. For Sturm he was out of shape and underestimated him. For Hopkins he tried to fight like an amateur and not get hit. I think he will be back to fighting like he did against Vargas come Saturday night.

With that said, he seems liek he wants to go to war..if so, he loses.

Oh I HOPE so badly that he tries to FIGHT Mayorga and not BOX him. That would be just wonderful...
