Well I guess it depends on what expectations you have from this section of the forum. If you are looking to get your training advice from here alone you will be in strife obviously. If you have asked your trainer a question or he/she has told you to do something and you are unsure of it, this is a good place to post a question about it because you can filter the drunken idiots from the genuine responses from your own knowledge and experience and will probably get some good advice.

Several of us have been to several gyms, many have similar exercises, but why do we favour one over another? Some trainers are more progressive and like to keep informed with up to date science others keep it old school. There will be good fighters coming out of both camps.

And for all the talk in the world if you don't put the time in at the gym you're going nowhere.

    To sum up.
Not every method applies to every person in every situation. That's where I think the forum comes in.

Yes. I've read many tips and tricks throughout this forum in my time lurking here. I'd like to say that the trainers here (or mods) on here are worth their weight and are quite full of knowledge. They're like a super team, each have their own special way of teaching and different perspectives/insight. Just take the time to really read what they say and it'll open your mind up, including in the ring.

the posters here'll school ya too. lol.

btw mods, you guys need start some more guides and tutorials on some nifty subjects. Like maybe one on how to defend yourself on the ropes or maybe one like how to punch from the boxing clinch. lol.

now im off to go browse 'What works for you in fighting/sparring?" :P

It may have slowed up a little recently in regards to question and answer regarding a lot of the more in depth techniques and tactics, but if you search back even a year or 2, there are a tonne of valuable threads that have great stuff.

Nothing substitutes a good trainer if you're thinking of turning pro, or already fighting pro,,,, but if you can see any holes in your game or tips on fighting against certain style opponents, there is enough knowledgable people to give you a lot of food for thought.
