If he thought he was winning, I would hate to see him when he was losing. Trinidad had no defense and hardly threw a punch, yet people still use that as one of winkys notable victories, which is pathetic. Taylor would have dropped him in three. Winkys finally fixing to face someone with the eye of the tiger!
I just dont see Jt having the eye of the tiger, if he did he would have showed it in the B-hop fights and I am sure most of us agree here that he lost those fight and was given them as gifts because we will no longer have Osca de laholla and Boxing needs a new face. So I dont think he will win , but he might be given another gift.
I thought they were both close fights that could have gone either way. Besides nobody looks good against B-hop. To me in both fights B-hop didnt do enough to say he clearly won and Taylor was trying to be a tactical fighter against Hopkins which is not his way of fighting. So he looked bad against him. Now Taylor is in with another tough fighter, but I think that Winky presents more of opportunity for Taylor to put together a good fight. I am not saying he is going to look fabulous against Winky but he will look better and win.

i thought this would be interesting to settle the score about who is the bigger man.
what i did was find the tale of the tapes of both winky and jermaines most recent fights. Winky's however i could only find the one with trinidad.

Jermaines is up to date however. As you can see Jermain on paper is in fact bigger.

I see a close match, Jermain will be the agressor,Winky will be forced to open up a bit more, i can see Jermain winning a controversial Sd, or winky winning by UD if Taylor's strategy to win does not work out.

    Jermaine: Hopkins Taylor II
    Record 24-0
    Knockouts 17
    Age 27
    Weight 159
    Height 6-foot-1
    Reach 78
    Chest (normal) 44
    Chest (expanded) 46
    Biceps 16 1/2
    Forearms 14
    Waist 31
    Thigh 28
    Calf 12
    Neck 17
    Wrist 7
    Fist  13

      Wright
     Height  5-10
     Reach  72
    Neck  16 1/2
    Chest Normal  40 1/2
    Expanded  43
     Waist  32
     Bicep  15 1/2
     Forearm  12
     Wrist  6 1/4
     Fist  12
    Thigh  23
     Calf  14
     Age  33

And if you want to compare winky's size to hopkins...

Hopkins-Taylor II Tale of the Tape
    Hopkins
    Record
    46-3-1
    Knockouts 32
    Age 40
    Weight 160
    Height  6-foot-2
    Reach 75
    Chest (normal)  39 1/2
    Chest (expanded) 42 1/2
    Biceps  13
    Forearms  11
    Waist  31
    Thigh 21
    Calf 14
    Neck  17
    Wrist  6
    Fist  12

Now as you can see....from this info Jermain is bigger then both winky and hopkins. BUT winky is bigger then hopkins is. Now if Jermain couldn't impose his size on hopkins (although he is a very slick boxer with considerably more movement then winky) how is he gonna do this on wright?

my best guess would be that Jermains camp is betting on Winky not being as slick (via movement) compared to hopkins. They want Jermain to be very agressive/smart with his punching. If i were Jermaine I would focus on straightening that jab and focusing on stamina.

If i were winky i would get prepared to actually open up a bit, and outbox the less experienced Taylor.

This is gonna be a good one guys...dont sleep

I think the fight will go to the most versatile fighter and that is Taylor. That shield defense is a very good defense for Winky (not many other fighters will benefit from it) and I believe that Taylor will adapt to that style and pick Winky apart. And once Taylor adapts to Winky's style it is over for him unless Winky changes up his style and I don't see that happening.

Besides versatility the fight will go to who ever can establish the jab,get in good body shots, and throw combination.

Winky is getting KTFO. Taylor's jab is lethal and it will keep Winky at bay. Winky's defense is great, but I can easily see Taylor taking a few rounds to figure Winky out and then proceeding to bully him around the ring all night and punish him against the ropes. Taylor is no Trinidad, Taylor is a very good technical boxer and he will find a way to pick Winky apart and break down Winky's defense. And Taylor is a legit 160 and probably should be at 168, Winky hasn't ever felt that power.

Why's everyone think Winky looked bad against Soliman Soliman threw 1000 punches and landed about 120 of them, thats an average of 10 punches landed per 100 thrown a round. Not even Mayweather could pull off numbers like that.

It's hard to look good vs a guy like Soliman...Winky still won, Soliman would frustrate ANYONE

I think that many of you wanna believe that Taylor will get wooped by Winkly easily becuz many on here dislike Taylor but you have failed to realize the skill of Jermain, his reach, size & determination to win!

If you ask me I think Hop's dimensions are greater than Winks. JT did impose his size on Hopkins, if he didn't he would have got KTFO.

With a 6inch reach and 2inch height advantage and the trainer of both Lewis and Klit in his corner isn't it obvious how he will fight? Its just a shame Stewart has so little time to work with him.

i go for a winky points verdict

    thats what worries me

taylor has what? 6 inch reach advantage?

winky needs to be in range to throw that jab

am also leaning towards winky however...dunno....really tough....depends on what kind of taylor shows up.

I think Taylor is just now warming up as a fighter. I think his size, strength, and boxing skills are gonna put Winky down. I know Wink has great defense, but I don't think his footwork is all that great. Hopkins was able to manipulate Taylor with his movement and power. I don't think Winky will have those adavantages.

Oh yeah, Hopkins' has a height, weight, and reach advantage over Wright. How exactly is Wright larger that Hopkins? Larger wrists maybe?
