Hatton is good, but the Collazo fight was no fluke, it showed that he can be out worked and outboxed, although i felt that cause of the knockdown Ricky pulled out the win, but just barely
CC, agreed. But remember that the hand thing with Gatti is not just an explanation/excuse for him getting in some trouble in the Damgaard fight; it's also a liability going forward. If he fought Hatton and broke his hand early on, I am sure that Hatton--with all his pressure--would make Gatti pay far more than Damgaard did. I think that hand is potentially a MAJOR problem in EVERY fight for Gatti going forward.

I think McGirt knows how to beat a style like Hattons.

Collazo deserves a shot at the winner of Gatti/Baldomir and in y opinion will beat either one then he will get clobbard by Clotey or Margarito.

I would love to see, Hatton - Gatti. I think if they are both on their best nights it would be a great fight.
I'd have to give Hatton the edge based on one factor HEAD MOVEMENT.

For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

I don't know that it will happen, I just think it would be a great fight, I think Hatton should fight the winner of Gatti /Baldomir regardless of who it is

yes he should fight the winner and then mayweather-margarito should happen and the winner of that should fight the winner of gatti/baldomir/hatton and have the unification fight of the welter divison. Then we will see is p4p champ

maybe its just me but i like gattis chances against floyd at 147.....gatti is much better conditioned for 147 as he doesnt have to drain and melt himself down as much to make it and floyd is more hittable at 147 and not as slick-------i know the first fight was a washout but i think it was an an anomaly...

as far as baldomir he has no shot to beat gatti in a million years......judah was just being judah and he paid for it again...just like almost did against chop chop and rafael pineda

I will personally give you 20-1 odds on up to $1000 on that one. Gatti is not a world-class fighter, period. He's great to watch, and he's better than average, but he will get KTFO every single time he steps in the ring with PBF--not that he's eager to ever go there again.

Gatti did bad against Pbf because his corners strategy sucked. He had a poor strategy. How many times do you see Gatti throw so few punches. I don't car if pbf is a great counter puncher. You ain't going to win the fight without throwing a lot of punches. Now am i going to be accused of hating Gatti because he sucked so badly, offensively, against pbf? His defence was good but he didn't throw enough punches to slow pbf down.

    any thoughts?
    Tut tut
have you ever watched Hatton before that fight?
Theres is no way in hell Gatti would beat Hatton. In fact i would bet alot of money if the odds were decent
There is no doubt that Gatti is entertaining and a fan favourite but he simply has no defence. He stops punches with his face.
hatton is undefeated for a reason and he wouldnt lose Micky Ward or get exposed so easily against PBF.
He would suit Hatton down to the ground, a come forward brawler

Your obviously a hatton hater comign out with a statment like that. Anyone who followed both careers would know Hatton would win easily.
I would have to disagree with you on the defense statement Ricky Hatton is a very awkward off balance fighter sure he brings the pressure this fight will be a war NO DOUBT!!!!!Since Buddy has been training Arturo he has really revamped his career he has showed alot of improvement he good boxing skills that are often overlooked by his ability to brawl..Its not fair to compare the old Gatti to thecurrent one....PBF gave him a royal beatdown no doubt it wuz a bad matchup for Gatti...Floyd is the best and outclasses and punishes most
    hey Jtrock, hows it going.
wasnt buddy mcgirt on board with gatti when he fought PBF.
Listen im a gatti fan like most people but he honestly wouldnt cope with Hatton at 140. Id bet m house on it.
Gatti is up there with the best toe to toe brawlers in history but any fighters who bring skill to the game can punish him bad.
Ricky has 41 fights and unbeaten, callazo is a very underated tricky southpaw who hatton beat in his over seas debut in a weight division he never fought before

    Keep his ass in 147.

Larry I think what most people are seeing is that Hatton is there to be hit and that's why the fight with a puncher like Gatti is so intriguing. Gatti should stay clear of slick boxers like Floyd but Hatton is no Floyd.
