Williams is still a little green, but in a year, this kid could be very dangerous. He could hold his own now, but I wouldn't rush things.

Williams could not beat Margarito, now, or tommorrow or next week, he was getting hit by Matthysse even after he was beaten up and tired, and he seemed to get shook up, Margarito is a whole different ballgame, Margarito is bull strong, iron chinned, and has tremendous stamina, I don't see Williams beaten Margarito, not at this stage of their careers.

I agree. I think it would be like Cintron-Margarito all over again. On the other hand though, Williams looks better than Cintron did. Williams took some good shots, and survived, while pitching a shutout, but he needs to be a little more patient before he fights a bigger puncher, IMO. Matthysse hits hard, but not as hard as some of the other welters. I'd like to see Williams fight Joel Julio.

Weak ass points. Is Sharmba ranked number 1 or 2 WW in Ring/ESPN etc like Tony?Is he respected by all writers?Floyd should fight Tony because Tony is number 1 man at WW.What's so nuthugging about that...err nothing...speaking the truth? According to your stupendous logic,Margarito should also fight Clottey,Cintron again and Williams too but after he beats them people like you pop out of nowhere with the same dumb ass arguments"Tony beat a bum etc etc". Yeah Sharmba is old but he looked good in his last fight and he is a name and I want to see how Tony does against a boxer.
Williams wins one match and people start getting excited.

I agree too. But, I'm not convinced, but I am impressed with the way Williams took those shots last night. I thought for sure he was going down, but he didn't. Obviously, Tony would go to the body more, and has the size to lay more pin-point counters, not some wild throws like Mattysse. Like I said before, Williams is too green yet. fighting Tony wouldn't be wise at this time. Especially after he was exposed IMO. Good boxer, needs more time. We saw what happened to Cintron.

Keep in mind that Mathysse needed to stretch out and reach for Williams hence loosing some power and leverage, Margarito wouldn't cus hes as tall and has the reach to connect without reaching as he normally does.

Let Williams fight Cintron, and lets see what happens. If he beats Cintron then maybe the Margarito camp may consider fighting Williams.

That was my point exactly. That's what I meant when I said pin-point counters, not wild throws. Tony wouldn't go for broke either like Mathysse did.

Yap, the Cintron fight would be something.

Come on people..... Hes a good boxer who showed he belongs in the ring, but lets not make it seem like he can storm thru anyone at 147..... He just fought top 20 opposition with Mathyse and already you guys are saying he would get rid of Tony.

In case you haven't noticed Margarito's resume is not exactly filled with top fighters
