My main fear with Anderson is they've moved him too fast. Last night he looked miles away from mixing it at British Title level and I fear that the opponents at this level are going to be just too good at this stage in his career. I agree completely with your assessment of Young mutley, I was never very impressed with him and thought Jennings did enough in their fight to keep the title. Jennings would beat Anderson at the moment, again I agree with you, but it depends on what Anderson has learned from last night. It could be the making of him given time.
Did you see Craig Dickson (the baldy guy) lose on the undercard last night? Kind of put Anderson's last win in perspective and probably helped to overhype Anderson.
I hope that they give him a couple of easy(ish) defences, let him get his confidence back and get used to the level and then go after Jennings possibly in about a year. I think at that stage he would be ready and then he can start looking at European titles. All this does depend on him sorting his defense out though...![]()
So the general concensus is that Anderson does not deserve to be British and Commonwealth champion because he is a somewhat crap boxer, and that he has been really luck so far to find himself a double champion!![]()
I will die at my post , on the streets or in prison
At the moment I agree but give him a couple/three years to further develop his skills (remember this was only his 17th fight and he now holds the British and Commonwealth Titles) and we will see. I definately think he has a chance if they give him time and do not rush him too early into stepping up.Originally Posted by leon9996
Nope, he was lucky last night but scored the KO so he deserved the win. Nothing lucky about his commonwealth title. Were you surprised by his performance last night? You've not really told us what you thought, so what's your take?Originally Posted by gogs67
I was being a tad sarcastic about the negativity surrounding a young guy with 2 decent titles under his belt so far.Sure,he underperformed last night but he dug deep and got the result when it mattered. He is,after all, still learning!Originally Posted by Wallace

Seems we agree!Originally Posted by gogs67
Young Mutley dominated last night & exposed plenty weakness in Andersons style.
Saying that I knew if Anderson could catch him flush he could still take him out as he finishes well, which he did.
Work to be done, but I still think he can improve enough to challenge at world level in 2 years.
Well !
I saw mutley take the title from jennings, ringside, at notts arena and he looked focused then.
He absolutely BOSSED Anderson until the 10th, bar 1 or 2 even rounds - Anderson's legs shook about 4 times..
...and then out of nothing he landed a beauty of a shot right across the chin of mutley who's knee's gave but he stayed up, firing back on wobbly legs and Anderson threw a ton of leather and the ref called it off.
Pure entertainment - Mutley looked great and IMO the better fighter - but fair play to Anderson, he was dropped and cut and took to school at times..but still won !
A rematch would be mouth watering![]()

ccs for replys![]()
My god, so negative some of you guys. Aye Muttley was winning on points but lets face it he wasn't 5 rounds ahead! Any one who saw the fight and can say that is talking mince. The real reason he was 5 rounds down was cause of the 3 english judges being biased as feck. Lets be honest would Muttleys team have been happy with 3 scottish judges and a scottish ref, naw don't think so, so don't try and tell me they weren't slightly biased. So what Ando didn't box as well as he normally does, yes he got caught with a big hook in he 2nd, but he bounced back up and came firing back and was robbed of a knock down himself, when the fat blind ref ruled it a slip. To recap, he didn't box to his best ability, Muttley boxed out of his skin (probably wont box that good again) , Muttley was a couple of rounds ahead and then got sparko'd, so some how I
Gally, Tristan Davies won:
Tristian Davies worked well behind the jab, to pick up a 59-56, six-three's win over hard punching Wolverhampton light-welterweight Carl Allen. Sean Messer officiated.
Allen (9st 13lbs) was pressed against the ropes for much of the six-rounder, as Telford's Davies (9st 12lbs 10oz) jabbed his way in, before hitting Allen with bodyshots. Davies improves to 7-0 (0)
There should definitely be a rematch.
There won't be, of course.
Tommy Gilmour doesn't tend to let his fighters go into rematches if the first fight was close. He'd rather go down another route, and not risk his meal ticket.
