No disrespect to JL but I don’t think that he at the moment is in a position too chose weather he wants to fight Mundine, Kessler or another top smw boxer.
It would also be to risky to come back against so strong opponents and it could ruin his career but of course also be a great booster if he wins, which I doubt.
IMO he should find a guy at the Omar Sheika level. Last time he struggled against Omar so a rematch might be a good fight for him.
Good point. I hope he learns from it and doesn't dwell on it.Originally Posted by Smashup
lacy will never be the same again. Its not like he had the fight and got knocked out bya lucky punch, or lost more orunds than he won. He didn't win a single round and never looked like he was going to, completely and utterly outclassed!
That's because he was all Hype
As i said above ... Joe beat the Fighter outta Lacy same as Lewis did Tyson.
Seen it Sooooo many times with fighters who get a bad beating like that before.
They are NEVER the same again.
You're probably right but to Jeff's credit he was very gracious after taking his beating and seemed as if he really wanted to get better and learn from the experience. Unlike Tyson who was trying to rub Lewis' face while saying he loves him and his kidsOriginally Posted by Smashup

Lacy was too greenOriginally Posted by Smashup
Tyson was WAAAAY past his prime
Jeff will come back, he'll have ring rust but he needed to take that time to heal and address the shortcomings in his fighting style. They need to put him in with someone who is easy to hit and has a decent chin so he can get comfortable and get rounds in too
He will be under enormous pressure to perform and look good.
Calzaghe landed over a 1000 punches cleanly in their fight.
Jeff took his hiding well and made no excuses - but he should avoid someone with fast hands i would definitely suggest if i was picking his next corpse.
Too green? More than 250 fights and at the age of 28 years old. He should be at his peak now.Originally Posted by Lyle
I think he will come back fine, he got it all wrong, his corner were incompitant and he got battered by a superb fighter. Its the ones who cant understand why they have lost that lose the edge, I think Lacy understands just fine
Time will tell.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

GREAT!!!! I can stop crediting Calzaghe for that win thenOriginally Posted by Smashup
