Kessler has gained a little more than 10 pounds in about 9 years as a pro….so where do you want to put in your “suddenly”? He went from 18/19 years in that period so is it not naturally to gain some weight as you grow older starting as a teenager?

Carl Froch turned pro at the age of 25 years old, so of course he has been at SMW all the time. Kessler was also SMW at the age of 25.

Don't think Kess can live with Calzaghe but I'm confident that he'll batter Beyer. Beyer has struggled with a lot of ordinary fighters and looks about half the size of Kessler. He doesn't hit hard enough to discourage him and is not as fast or elusive as Mundine who Kessler had no trouble with in cutting the ring off and scoring. I've been bored senseless by Beyer too many times not to hope Kessler wins, no matter how obnoxious his fans are.

I have a sneaky suspision that he's gonna destroy Beyer.

It'd be a shame for such a good up & coming fighter to fall under the hands of Beyer. No shame of him losing to Calzaghe...but Beyer?

That's the thing about Royal, Meir, Ciraplex, WTFE...he'd be okay with Kessler losing to Calzaghe...he'd make up an excuse or 20, I'm sure...but he won't give Lacy a break over it.

agreed. Ive no really problems respecting the potential Kessler has. He is definately in the top 3 of the division and just needs more exposure against commercial names. It does detract when you get the multiple personas of royal rubbing kessler in your face all the time whilst randomly piling hate upon lacy, but otherwise its easy to see that kessler is actually pretty good.

He should beat Beyer....then come the true tests....but calzaghe IMO is too good for him...

It does detract when you get the multiple personas of royal rubbing kessler in your face all the time whilst randomly piling hate upon lacy, but otherwise its easy to see that kessler is actually pretty good.

Best thing to do there...just ignore blatant stupidity.

I like Kessler...but I can deal with the fact that he is still an unproven commodity. Not that he would have to beat Calzaghe to make his statement...honestly...if he would just step up to plate & bat against anyone else at 168lbs worth mention...he'd be 100% thumbs up.

Beyer will do. KO Beyer...or work his ass of...that'll be good enough.

He should beat Beyer....then come the true tests....but calzaghe IMO is too good for him...

Calzaghe is too good for him...& IWO...Beyer will be a good test...Mundine was a good test...& he passed that one with flying colors.

The problem is...this is boxing & as with all other fighters...your'e only as good as your last fight & fans are so fickle that the sky is the limit & once reached...it's still never enough.

Calzaghe steamrolled Lacy...now it's that Calzaghe has to beat someone at 175 or he needs to beat Kessler.

It's never enough.

Example: Trust me...I want him to beat Kessler...but after that...I'll still be wanting another definitive win.

This looks like a case of Kessler fighting good opponents with big names but not with the styles that could beat his. If he's open after every punch like you said then is Beyer a counter puncher or a combination thrower?
