Well I' am really looking forward to this fight and I'm torn as to who I want to win.. I'd like Mosely to win and put the whoop on Mayweather but he said that it ain't happening any time soon. I guess that means I want Vargas to win in a barnburner so we get a trilogy... who doesn't like a good trilogy?

according to boxingtalk.com.............team mosely said they would consider a mayweather match IF (and thats a very big if) the purse was at parity (50-50 split)

and, of course, thats IF (another big if) mosely beats vargas on saturday

for the WDRbR. Usually in a rematch we get the same result as the first bout, but I am going with Fernando with the hard fought UD. Just a hunch.

In first fight he show us lots of heart and determination and if it wasn't for eye I think he could of have chance to win first fight.IMO first fight was extremely close and I think rematch should be good one maybe candidate for best fight of the year.

It was close & I agree...the rematch is going to be a goody. Not sure about FOTY though...quite a few peeps thought that very thing about the first fight.

I musst have been one of the few people that thought the first fight was ok,not brilliant in anyway,shape or form!! I just did not find it exciting! Anyway,nice analysis Wack,CC. I feel Fernando will win this,he knows if he loses again that it could cost him big matches so I expect him to come out more determined,start earlier and win on points.

I was surprised that I enjoyed the fight as much as I did...had to watch it a few times...but it was a smoker.

As for the winner...it's a tuffy...I think that Mosley's pop will be a distraction...I really do...but I still think that SSM will win it.

I feel Mosley stops Vargas mid rounds this time. Coming into the 7th or 8th I can see Vargas getting careless & getting caught with something big

I didn't think the first fight was particularly close, and thought Vargas looked just as terrible as I had expected him to look. Lots of walking forward, throwing very few punches, and getting hit. He's always been a level down from the best fighters, and even with Mosley well off of his prime, Vargas has fallen a lot farther. Mosley by wide UD or late stoppage.

I agree that Mosley wins by a UD or a late stoppage.

I'm never really that impressed with Vargas...but I guess that's just because I don't dig on him much in any way shape or form...but I thought that he gutted it out towards the end.

as for the fight, i have no idea how it will turn out, but i suspect that some hard knocks are a-comin.

I just don't think that Mayweather Mosley is a good idea...for either. Still not sure that my bwoy Floyd can take the weight that far up.

I just think that Mosley's got one hell of a chin & Vargas doesn't seem to have carried much power with him since he's come back from his back injury & gotten offa the roids.

Yeah Mosley's chin is pretty solid barr the 1st Forrest fight. & I don't think Vargas has got the power to stop him with one shot. I feel Vargas' best chance of victory is to go to the body, in the 1st fight with Wright Mosley didn't look good when he got hit to the body. But I feel Mosley has the better fundamentals which will allow him to create holes in Vargas' defense & exploit them. Mosley by KO by round 8.

i watched the fight last night ... and while mosely was faster and seemed to dominate vargas over many rounds, vargas never looked out of the fight. i think he definately punches harder and has more heart than mosely, and could out slug him given the opportunity. that said, mosely could straight up outbox him to an easy victory, but i imagine a similar fight to the last but with vargas being able to capitalise, where he couldn't last time.

Vargas was also finding Mosley with the straight right hand. And if he stayed with John David Jackson for this fight they would have worked on that. But I'm betting Jack is just feeding Shane's ego and making him press forward on his front foot again and that is going to get Shane beat.

In the first fight Vargas seemed too not be able to fight from the outside like he could in his younger day's. The back injury has really hurt him, but if he stay's on the inside he will be able to bully Sugar all night long, I think he found that out starting in the fifth round of the first fight, the hard part is to cut the ring off on Shane and immobilize his quickness. Nevertheless Vargas by UD. Expect a good fight from two fighters who's best are far behind them.

looking forward to this one. Should be a close fight and I reckon Vargas is gonna take it on a decision but I couldnt argue the case for it going the other way either. Luckily we are getting this one live on Sky Sports but I will be keeping an eye on the superb WDRBR thread to get some other perspectives on what you all think. It helps me stay awake as well if I have to get up to go through to the computer as well. Nothing worse than dozing off and as you wake you only see the after fight interviews or even worse the dreaded daytime tv!!..its happened before!! Roll on Saturday!

Both men are shadows of their former selves. Vargas doesnt have that brute force he once has and mosely just seems to of faded. I pick mosely by UD, i dont see vargas knocking him out and i think thats the only way he could win.
