When i saw him against Juan Miguel Cotto, i thought this kid won't last long by having no power to KO opponents.

But last night against Randy Suico, he had shown how great defense and intelligence can win a fight and he did it in outstanding fashion.

Suico who dominated the entire Pacific rim with and packs a 24W - 21KO's record, but he was totally outclassed, outboxed, outmanuevered by Juan Diaz.

He is very young and not yet even at his prime

a fight with Frietas, Casamayor and Corrales will be great. and also with PACMAN if he decides to fight at lightweight

I agree I saw his last fight and the cotto fight he's awsome and very young (only22) and already had 29 fights, from now on am a fan of his and will root for him for many years.

I agree, maybe they did not study Diaz well and hopes Suico would land a bomb and finish him early. But it turns out Diaz is well covered and Suico's lack of head movements do the damage for him. Suico is a big puncher with 21 KO's but the handspeed of Diaz is main issue.

Joe Kuizumi should have opted Suico to dance early on and avoided the shots instead of colliding with it in hopes of countering Diaz.

Suico's stands looks really like Luisito Espinoza, both trained by Kuizumi

Suico should look for a better trainer or he'll ended up nothing but a prospect
Like I said, typical Filipino pratfall, looking for the big KO. In between roudns 1 and 2 I think, they showed a close up of Suico's trainer. Bob Sheridan mistakenly claimed that Suico was being told to cover up when he threw the right uppercut. In actuality, Suico was being told to throw a right overhand to open up Diaz to the uppercut. We all saw that didnt work.............

My point is, its the typical problem with Filipino boxers and trainers, they all want the KO victory. Not enough emphasis on the actual boxing. A guy like Suico gets his height wasted. I agree, he needs a new trainer, to bring him back to the fundamentals.

Diaz looks like a good fighter and rumours are going around that a unification with Popo Freitas is next!! The only thing I worry about is his lack of power against someone like Chico Corrales would be a downfall,Chico would walk through him and knock him out!

i dont think chico can walk through anybody ..... Diaz is relentless he throws a shitload of punches and has a great chin IMO. remember he put a beat down on Jose Miguel Cotto who has some pop not like corrales but still powerful IMO. i like this kid.

I am a fan of Juan Diaz. At this point I don't see a choice in the matter.

(I am glad that Rock Allen didn't get his KO.)

The kid is very very good but his punches will not hurt Corrales at all and he doesn't come across as the type of guy to box and move,he will be a primarily stationary target, and anyone who stands still with Chico gets KTFO!! He has not met anyone with the power of Corrales who I believe would KO anyone 147 and down and I just feel Diaz would be taken to war and beaten up,reminiscent of a Tito,Vargas fight.

im not sure about that, especially chicos chin. its true diaz is not a power puncher but the amount of punches he throws will eventually catch up w/ chico imo. that is assuming of course that diaz can take what chico dishes out. i think what might win this fight for diaz is his combination punching and all of chicos wars will and imo have caught up w/ him. id like to see this fight....chico has a tremendous amount of power but imo diaz has shown a great chin and great stamina......

Good points but remember all the hellcaious shots Chico took from JLC first time around, that showed me he had a good chin and Castillo was throwing in bunches at times too and is more powerful than Diaz. Diaz has never come close to taking power like Chicos!!! I think this is the first time we have disagreed!!!No matter brothers disagree

Ooooooh,Diaz Pac,would be a great great fight! He could neutralise Pac with his his high output but I think Pac would eventually come out on top. Yeah, that's the one thing I worry about, being a Chico fan,I want to know how he took that KO from JLC second time around. Is he ruined? I hope not and he has had a prolonged rest since then!

id like to see pac vs diaz. but imo this time will be to much for pac in terms of weight. diaz is big for 135 and actually started his career at 140 so id give the edge to diaz, if its at 130 or 135.....it would be a great fight they both fight at an incredible pace......

I totally agree.it would make for a great great fight but I don't think Pac should move up too many weight classes.I think he should dominate where he is first and then think of moving up.

I can easily beat Diaz — Pacquiao
    By Nick Giongco

HOW MANNY Pacquiao wished that he was the one on top of the ring Saturday night in Las Vegas and not the hapless and immobile Randy Suico who was beaten to a pulp by the rugged Mexican Juan Diaz.

"I am not boasting but I know the way how to beat (Juan) Diaz," Pacquiao said from his hometown of General Santos City yesterday hours after viewing Suico’s disastrous showing in the World Boxing Association lightweight title match held at the MGM Grand.

"I could beat Diaz by using lots of movement. Diaz is a perfect opponent for me," Pacquiao said, his voice sounding thrilled as though he was about to feast on a plateful of his favorite dish.

Pacquiao said Suico’s strategy of engaging Diaz in a phone-booth warfare was costly since Diaz inflicts heavy damage inside.

"Randy fought Diaz’s fight and he should have punched to the body more often and stayed out of Diaz’s punching range," observed Pacquiao when he caught up with a late re-run of Saturday night’s (Sunday morning) slugfest.

"Suico did not use his reach advantage and footwork. He doesn’t even use head movement," said Pacquiao, who vowed to avenge the Cebu native’s loss although a fight between him and Diaz is not on the horizon at this point in time.

"Someday I will fight him (Diaz) and I will beat him so we can have some sort of a revenge," added Pacquiao, who had previously sparred with Suico.

A Pacquiao-Diaz showdown might even take place sometime next year in the event the Filipino gets past Erik "El Terrible" Morales in their rubber match on Nov. 18.

Pacquiao’s American trainer Freddie Roach had earlier expressed belief that Pacquiao has still what it takes to win even he goes in the 135-lb division.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao is arriving in Manila tomorrow for the final phase of his preparation for a mini-concert that will be held on Sunday afternoon.

After spending the night at the Cardinal Santos Hospital during the weekend, Pacquiao proceeded to General Santos City on Sunday morning to be reunited with his sons Emmanuel Jr. and Michael Stephen and pregnant wife Jinkee, due for delivery in September.
