    10 years actually October 28 1901 to February 22 1912

    Louis reigned between:

    June 22 1937 to either

June 25th 1948: (his last (successful) defence against Walcott

March 1 1949: When he announced his retirement, or

September 27 1950, when he lost to Charles, and thus Ezzard was considered World Champion by everyone except Europe and Great Britain.

As for Abe, it is a very debatable subject as a lot of people discredit Attell, many of his fights were by his own admission fixed. And yet at his best, he was some think (not me) maybe the Greatest Featherweight ever...

Louis obviously had a more respected reign that was slightly

What about Bernard Hopkins? He reigned for 10 or so.

Did he make most world title defenses of all time as well or was just for middleweight?

From The Guiness Book of Records

Longest Reign As A Boxing Champion
American Joe Louis Barrow had the longest reign as a boxing champ. He was world heavyweight champion for 11 years and 252 days, from 1937 until 1949. His record-breaking reign began when he fought James J Braddock in Chicago and knocked him out. Although champion, Louis still wanted to beat the German boxer Max Schmeling, who had defeated him a year earlier. In 1938 they finally met again and Louis knocked Schmeling out in just over 2 minutes. Louis retired in 1949, still undefeated, but made a comeback in 1951 and was beaten for the last time by Rocky Marciano.

    Guess it was Joe then!

I would of thought that 'honour' would belong to a Frans Botha or James Toney; i.e.someone who failed a drugs test after winning the title.

Norton reigned retrospectively from November 1977 to June 1978, as the WBC declared his win over Young as for the vacant title, in March 1978...

Here's the KO champ of the world...

    Most Boxing Knockouts
The greatest number of finishes classed as knockouts in a boxing career is 145 (129 in professional bouts), by the USA's Archie Moore. He was born in 1913 and grew up in Mississippi. At the end of his career he moved on to training fighters such as George Foreman. Moore was elected to the Boxing Hall of Fame in 1966 and President Eisenhower invited him to the White House to help combat juvenile delinquency.

that shi..t must be off the charts, stil its like foreman says theres no natural advantage, if youre small, or big, you have to take advantage, i think he pretty much said that in the corrales-pbf match.

Longest reign should really be measured in title defences..

    ..not years.

    Whom would that be?

Some dudes are fighting 4/5 times a year whilst other only fight 3 times a year if that..

In my opinion, in due course Jimmy Wilde will be shown to of had the most KO's, it is just a case of research...

For the moment like you say, Moore has the most 'official' though.

    Then it is:

Mr Saengmuangnoi Lukchapormasak aka Samson Dutch Boy Gym, Samson Kratingdaen-Gym, Samson Toyota-Thailand, Samson 3-K Battery, Samson Elite Gym was 39-0 in WBF title fights (38 defences of his 115lbs crown)
