Couldn't care less about Margarito, if he and Arum spent as much time and effort forcing bigger fights as they do bitching on boxing websites he'd have Mayweather in the ring by now.

Spinks is just another stepping stone, a risk free manoeuvre on the road to DLH.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Offcourse you & many people could care less about Tony. But ultimately you can ask lots of people and the majority of them would tell you Tony is the deserving fighter that should be fighting PBF next. In the end 'THE REAL HARD CORE BOXING FANS' like myself get cheated out of a GREAT fight to be. And down the road will end up in a thread discussion on a boxing site about 'GREAT FIGHTS THAT NEVER HAPPEND' maybe even along JMM vs. MAB.

Or vice versa. Spinks could do the same to Mayweather couldn't he?

The WBO belt is garbage. And Margarito hasn't made a name for himself. His groupies made his name for him.

yeah, youre right.........i forgot all about the wbo/crap ass belt .

by the way, did you forget that margarito fought for a VACANT wbo belt instead of beating a champion?

and when exactly did margarito make a name for himself? was it his epic victory over the legendary kermit cintron?

i said paul williams was ONE of the MANY welters who called out margarito, i dont think much of him but i think he beats margarito

No because Mayweather doesn't drop the shoulder and reach with the jab like Spinks does. And Mayweather wouldn't be suckered into fighting Spinks' fight like that.

If Spinks can do something about his stamina, this will be a good fight. Spinks, to me always looks good in the early rounds, but looks like crap in the later rounds. Maybe he can work on his stamina by dancing in some of Nelly's videos.

Mayweather stops Spinks IMO, quite late tho as Mayweather isnt a devastating puncher at welter. KO/TKO 9/10th.

This is a good fight....for Mayweather. This guy Spinks is one of the most hated guys in boxing. Whether it's because of his dad, his over the top entrances, Kevin Cunningham, wins over Judah, Mayorga and Karmazin or his keep away style; he just isn't liked. Cunningham is a pompous a** and his entrances are shat, but he really looked good against Karmazin at 154 lbs. For the first 8 rounds anyways. But how does he match up with Mayweather?

After the fight, I thought Kevin Cunningham was crazy for calling out Mayweather, simply because that is the one guy whom I beleive would have a field day in the ring against Spinks. Sure he may be the big money guy but Spinks should have been aiming for the likes of Kassim Ouma and Vernon Forrest, not Mayweather. Spinks racks up his points by moving in with the jab, flurrying and getting out quickly. He is lightning quick and has good accuracy so he looks good when he is on. There were times in the Karmazin fight, who isn't the slowest in terms of handspeed, where Karmazin wasn't able to get one punch in before Karmazin was in and out in a flash with 3 punches landed. Only one problem, that was Karmazin. Mayweather is a completely different fighter and he won't be beat that way. Spinks was able to do that to Karmazin because he would have Karmazin stalking him all around the ring and he would suprise him with the jab, follow it with the right, get another left in and move out. Karmazin was just trying to keep him on the inside and go to work. Mayweather is, now that the great Nard has stepped out of the limelight, probably the smartest fighter out there. Not to mention he has blinding speed, pinpoint accuracy and timing that is second to none. Unlike Spinks, Mayweather can fight a number of different fights. He can go a few different ways with this one.

Firstly, he could stalk Spinks with the jab and then everytime Spinks lunges in, step back and time his coming in. In all likelyhood, this is the route Mayweather takes. Spinks tends to drop his shoulder when he jabs, and Mayweather should be pinpoint with his 1,2 all night.

Spinks also tires, he did quite a fading job in the Collazo fight and circled towards the right of Karmazin. Karmazin just couldn't capitalize. But truth be told, Spinks was a dumb fighter those last 4 or 5 rounds and you can count on Mayweather not letting him get by on running away. The fight has a chance to be even going into the championship rounds, but Mayweather is the guy with all the experience past that point and he should take advantage of that against Spinks.

Eh, just a couple things that stuck out in my head. To tired to type every little reason why I think Mayweather would win, but this is a handpicked opponent. Not calling Spinks a bum, but he can't handle Mayweather. Mayweather has that southpaw killer in the right hand, and won't have any trouble timing the open Spinks as he lunges in.

    Mayweather TKO 11.

And I apologize for any incoherency in that little schpeel, midnight ramblings.

So...how do you think this fight plays out?
    Nice.

Without getting too deep whilst at work...I gotta say that I think Floyd's going to have issues with Spinks based on the fact that Spinks has been higher on the scale for the duration of his career...that being said...I want Floyd to own his a**.

Make that wack a** cry, career worthy.

I agree...Personaly I don't like either myself...I don't care who beats Floyd just as long as it gets done...I was a fan til he started his ranting about how he is the greatest of all time and insulting Robinson but feelings aside....Spinks is a do or die guy..When he is on top of his game the guy does his job and well..He can box with the best a frustrate you to all hell....Can't break wind with a punch but thats besides the point....Based on Spinks going in the fight primed and on his game I say it wouldn't be that much of an upset if he won a SD...Not saying he will or would beat Floyd but IMO it wouldn't be that much of a shocker....I over the years have become a believer of the Spinks Jinx lol
