Ruiz. Next question. In return name one decent fighter Ray Austin has beaten. Youve put him in on the back of a draw for christs sake, with a man who doesnt crack your top ten.
The question asked for someone he "truthfully beat"--not someone over whom he was GIFTED a ridiculous decision. Try this: Valuev shouldn't be on a top 10 list because he couldn't even beat Ruiz.

Valuev beat Ruiz fair and square, anyone with half a mind could see that.

When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Even if we remove Ruiz from his record he makes the list. Briggs makes it having gone on a winning streak against bums, not my words. Valuev has been on a winning streak for years, that must be better than Briggs? Or is it that Briggs just happens to be fighting Lyle's boy Wlad?

Every single commentator I've read disagrees. As does the editorial staff at The Ring, who even went so far as to keep Ruiz ranked several spots above Valuev.

So Valuev is good enough for the Ring top ten. Im going to assume that Briggs and Austin aren't?

    No?

I'm not disagreeing with you there at all. As I said before, I think this whole exercise is difficult/meaningless since all of these guys are really really terrible and could always lose their next fight (as every single beltholder in the division did within the past 6 months).

    Back atcha.

I can't say I wouldn't love to see Valuev KO'd though--it would be fun to see someone that big hit the canvas.

Eh, could be...at least Shannon is stepping up his competition and unlike Valuev he's trying to accomplish something for the division.

Shannon brings SOMETHING to the table other than being big and ugly whereas Valuev does not

For me it has to be Williams from that list, the guy wasn't even ranked to start with then lost to Skelton who was also unranked. Everyone else there has compete with better competition, cept Sultan but he's still undefeated.

You forgot the belt Valuev brings to the table.

    Hope this helps (it wont)

That said, I wouldn't rank him as number three. These guys are all so bad that they could all lose to each other on any given day, but I'd put money on Lyahovich or Brewster beating Brock at least 3 out of 5. I don't know though, aside from Wlad at the top, the rest of these guys are so shitty it's pretty hard to rank them in any kind of meaningful order.
I would be inclined to agree with you. No one else except Oleg has stepped up.....Rahman is not even top 10 anymore.....
It feels good to be back home.

The belt is what you make of it and defenses vs Owen Beck and Monte Barrett make the WBA belt worth jack shit

At least Wlad is fighting someone remotely dangerous

Rahman fought Maskaev obviously he's dangerous

Lyakhovich hasn't been seen or heard of since beating Brewster
