Almost every boxing writer and announcer except Kellerman insist that everyone is ducking Margarito.
baldomir won that fight last time i checked.

i hope youre kidding about thinking that "clottey and cintron make pbf's last fights look so outrageously," (even margaritos family wouldnt buy into that garbage)

and no, if you followed the sport of boxing and looked a little deeper than the antonio margarito fan club website, you would see that pretty much EVERYBODY is saying floyd is taking the better fight by wanting to become the linear welterweight champion of the world.

as far as this money issue that you keep harping on...........
floyd felt he could get a better deal elsewhere

    tough decision,
margarito (who lost to a bum 4 fights ago) for 8 mil and the "prestigous," wbo strap (that he never fought a champion to get)

or baldomir (who hasnt lost in 8 years, and has faced better competition in the last 8 months than margarito has in his whole career) for 8 mil and hes the linear welterweight champion of the world

    Dude Williams never fought Clottey

Only You would think that Mitchell, Arturo Gatti, Henry Brussels etc... are better than Cintron and Clottey

Baldomir has not lost in eight year but look who he has fought and Clottey should be the linear champ right now so in the fans eyes Floyed is fighting the wrong guy.

now lets set this straight, im not a pbf fan, i dont like him, i admire him but i dont like him, 1 of my worst boxers out there.

but everyday im reading pbf ducking margarito, pbf ducking spinks, pbf ducking hatton.

the reason hes ducking them, is the same reason he's ducking me, what right do we have to share a ring with floyd
wat have we done to deserve it
would we really have a chance against him me personally he would whip!!!

you have to earn your shot at the top and until that time comes you just wait.

baldo beat zab and followed it up with gatti, there is much harder fights out there for pbf but baldo has earned his shot
hatton (and im a massive hatton fan, not a hater) has beaten massaua and collazo in his last 2, not really household names were they, even in the boxing world
spinks may get his chance when floyd decides to step at up again, and he will step it up.
margarito's last opponent had 10 losses to his name is that really the kind of fight champions should take

odlh will prob end his career with floyd and make a shitload of cash both ways and fair play to the guys if they do, its a job at the end of the day, let em get in, make there money and get out.

yes boxers do duck others to protect there own interests but before we slate them

stop and think, do they really deserve that shot

5th november 2006 floyd mayweather v beds, beds wins ko 4..................................... bollox
I do agree with you completely although some may argue that Sharmba Mitchell, Arturo Gatti, Henry Brussels and co did nothing to earn their shots either.

For me it's risk versus reward, and Floyd has been excatly the right game. He's planned his career to perfection so far, obviously a very smart guy both inside and outside the ring.
mitchell was mayweather first fight at welter, and a southpaw (possible tune-up for judah?)
bruselles was a title eliminator for a shot at the championship

and of course, gatti was the champ at the time, and looked VERY good leading up to his fight with mayweather
Yeah just like Urango is a champ and how could you even think bruselles was a deserving mandatory? Oh thats right you did go to boxrec for the Baldomir-Clottey decision so now I know where you are coming from

bruselles was a TITLE ELIMINATOR for a fight with the champ, which was gatti at the time (wbc champion, a real championship)

    face it, you got schooled.
im done with you on this thread

Hahaha you really believe all that title elimator crap means anything this day and age? What a newbie! Everytime and as soon as the HBO boys change weight they are gifted a title eliminator or a fight with the winner. Its bullcrap and anyone wth common sence knows it

Beds, you are a great poster here but I totally disagree with most of what you said. Floyd is taking this fight because he knows it's an easy payday,Tony is by far and away the bigger threat.

Also, you have to take into account,Floyd is not Oscar,he can't pull the strings of whom he wants to fight like that until he shows us balls like when Oscar fought Tito etc. Tony has been in the division a while and of course you would want to fight the best in the division, and Tony is one of them.

All I have to say is what have guys like Corley etc done to get shots? It has no relevance that they were a title elimintor etc,Floyd still won an alphabet soup title, why didn't he go after Tszyu? WBO,WBC,you really think Floyd cares? Most were coming off losses.I'm not crazy or a nut hugger,I would say Floyd would probably beat Tony but it would also be a dam exciting fight, probably the most exciting fight at 147,EVERYONE would pay $$$ to see it.

I also refuse to believe Floyd is ducking TONY and I give him the benefit of the doubt,I believe he sees Tony as a threat and does not want to risk his $20mill from the Oscar fight, but after the fight,I think he will be more willing to fight, Then we wil really find of if he is ducking, until then,I believe he is just playing it safe.

The only problem is is that Oscar wont fight him until PBF is considered a true P4P.
