I agree 100%....If Shannon comes in at a respectable weight he has a chance of pulling it out....I have to say though I don't think he can beat Wlad...No matter how in shape....Wlad showed me he is a new fighter since the Peter fight....He maitained himself after the 3 knockdowns...Shows me he can compose himself more and not fall apart when hurt...Steward will continue to improve on that....No way Briggs beats Wlad

I agree Daxx...but although Klitschko was able to compse himself after being hurt, don't you think some of those knockdowns were bullshit; coming from rabbit punches?

I do....At least Wlad kept his cool...He didn't fall apart...Like the Sanders fight when he was totaly confused once hurt....hey it's OK to go down as long as you get up....and Wlad is now learning what to do when hurt...This just helps him improve every time out....

I am a big fan of Wlads as I was his brother. When Wlad was all the craze and Vitaly was just considered the other brother who wasn't as good. They called for a fight with Lewis. This was before Lewis fought Vitaly...IMO Lennox would have ruined Wlad before he had the chance to grow...He is still getting better...IMO he will have a long reign as long as he doenst get caught and get KO'd flat out...If he learned to get by the power of Sam Peter who else in the division could be as big a threat with their power?

Never saw that one. I didn't care for the first one...as soon as I saw him deflect a missle with a serving tray I lost interest.

I knew Briggs was in Bad Boys 2

I don't think that Briggs has a chin problem. He took some big big shots from Lewis and he wasn't out, he was exhausted. I have only seen Sergei against Brewster also so it's hard to say. But Briggs took a beating and wasn't out, just too tired after getting knocked down 5 times.

For anyone hoping that Briggs come in at 230, forget it...Shannon has publicly stated that the mid 250's is his new natural weight....this will only make his bad stamina worse so stamina may be an issue...as for Lyakhovich, he doesn't have power and in any other era would be a "trial horse"..while I never saw the fight this is the same Lyakhovich that was stopped by Maurice Harris right

With all of this I have to go with briggs by KO within 5...Briggs may not be in shape and doesn't have a huge heart but he has skills, significant skills...and once he realizes Lyakhovich can't hurt him Briggs will pressure and KO Lyakhovich...

His skills own't mean nothing if the stamina is gone.

Wlad didnt do anything new except hold. And Briggs needs to get his weight down.

Wlad went 12 rounds with Peter and he PACED himself vs Peter and Byrd...he had them on the edge kept them in danger but didn't shoot his load when they were in defensive mode.

The holding is more because of the Sanders fight than anything else...he doesn't hold because he's tired he holds because he 1) doesn't want the other guy to be in the right position to punch 2) he wants to tire the other guy out...it's the exact same thing Lewis did.

Wlad has been past 8 rounds 8 times and only lost once...I think his stamina is fine when he doesn't throw too many punches which is a legitimate problem for ANY heavyweight out there

Thats goes back to something I said in a different thread..he is still learning and IMO Steward is the big key to that right now....Manny will teach him how to overcome all those little things

Lyakhovich is an animal he beat brewster easliy, and his hand speed is amazingly fast (Calzaghe) for how big he is. If he improved his defence after he delivers the gut punch with the right hand he would be a tough guy to beat but he does have weaknesses. His biggest weakness is that he is young fighter example. when he hurt brewster in that one round where he had him very hurt he wasn't an experienced type of fighter in that sence because he was getting smothered and got tired and the next round he got knocked down. But L is a good heavyweight with a lot of good qualitys and if he gets stronger and quicker he will be the heavyweight to beat, and for u who think that briggs is a bigger puncher and better boxer than brewster your crazy brewster was a good heavyweight just like toney he is almost never going to go down.

Yea except Toney is a masterful boxer and Brewster can't box his way out of a paper bag... Briggs is a much better puncher than Brewster. He has more power, throws much more accurate and well timed shots, he has a jab, he is way better than Brewster.

As well he should, you don't go from fighting bums on ESPN to fighting a guy for a TITLE on Showtime and not miss a beat!

Briggs' best days are past him, he COULD pull an upset but I just don't think he'll be that big of a factor in the division even if he does win this fight.

Why not Briggs-Valuev...that would have made Nicolay a little bit more respectable IMO...fighting Monte Barrett whose last fight was a loss and that was OVER A YEAR AGO doesn't do ANYTHING for your credibility as a title holder or Don King's reputation as more of a protector of his investments than a true promoter
