    Default MAYWEATHERS ELBOW

OK NOW FOR MONTHS I'VE BEEN WATCHING TAPES ON MAYWEATHER AND I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT HIS A BIG PART OF HIS DEFENSE IS HIS POINTY ELBOW. IF ANYONE WATCHED THE FIRST FIGHT BETWEEN HIM AND CASTILLO THE ONLY WAY HE WAS ABLE TO GET CASTILLO OFF HIM IS BY PUSHING WITH THAT ELBOW.... ISN'T THAT ILLEGAL?....
ALSO I'M A BOXER MYSELF AND I'VE TRIED IT IN THE RING AND IT SETS A YOUR OPPONENT FOR A QUICK JAB OR THE CLEANEST LEFT HOOK YOU CAN EVER THROW.... WHEN YOU USE THAT ELBOW TO PUSH OFF YOU CAN DO THAT EVERYTIME THEY GET CLOSE THEN WHEN THEY THINK YOUR GONNA DO IT YOU CAN POP A QUICK JAB OF A BLINDING HOOK... I THINK THAT SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED AND IF ANYONE HAS ANYTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT IT WATCH HIS FIGHTS CLOSELY AT LEAST HAVE A LIL EXPERIENCE ABOUT BOXING

It's illeagle to just use the elbow part but you can use the whole forearm...you can not actually push...you must put some body into it...Unless you get caught ...But all kidding aside..pushing to the point your arm becomes fully extended is not allowed...On the other hand if you are fighting close you can push off using your shoulder

Your not supposed to though, the only part of a boxer that is supposed to make contact with his opponent is the knuckle part of the glove.

When Mayweather fought Hatton he did use this alot, it looked more like a messy spar session because of it.

Bull. Hatton got KTFO plain and simple. There was no elbow or any referee mistake.

Settle down....If you watch the fight you can see Floyd uses his elbows to his advantage that is all I am saying.....Hatton is no angel either as far as rough tactics go....so he shouldnt complain....

I agree Hatton did get KTFO

Pretty much every pro boxer is doing something Illegal, the trick is to either do it on the ref's blind side or disguise it.

But with things like this, unless it becomes Comical/like WWE then the ref would be hard pushed to give you even a slap on the wrist.

Every great has that one thing they do....Tyson follows the hook with the elbow...Holyfield is the headbut king....Hopkins hits on the hip below the belt...Ali held behind the head

Floyd has a few little tricks like that. Duckin real low, excessive use of the elbow, all part of his defensive armoury i guess. I'll never know how he got away with the elbow use so much in that fight against Hatton, but he did. Stinks for me.

Can't doubt his boxing ability though.

In addition to that, i'd always wondered how a real good southpaw with a body punch would get on against him, liftin his left elbow up so high all the time leaves his left side body open alot. Maybe thats sounds daft, who knows.

Yes it is, hence why the ref took a point off Floyd for doing it. You obviously didn't watch the fight properly before quoting it

And I see that Floyd vs Hatton is still a sore subject over a year on...Apparently Floyd still won because of the weight/ducking below waist/elbows/Joe Cortez/Ricky's dad not being allowed to ref etc Certainly wasn't because he was a class above Ricky, I mean who would suggest such things?
