Make sure you air it up enough so that it will bounce, the amount of air depends on you. But dont over inflate it.

Ignore how many pounds of air you are ment to put in it... just keep filling it till a solid hit gives you a few good bounces.

If you can basically just touch it with the weight of your fist and have it fly like in those videos then it is too full.

Also don't expect to be able to fly with it on your first few days, start off slow and soft and build up slowly.

Once you get the nack it's easy to time

    JL,

Could be one of three things.

One, poor action of the bag. I'll trust you inflated it but didn't over-inflate it. A decent bag, even if slightly under0inflated, will have at least 3 rebounds in it if hit solidly. A cheap bag, even if sufficiently inflated, will have poor action.

    2. I hate to rain on your parade, but if you bought a bag and platform from a super store like KMart, the platform itself simply might not have very good action. does the platform itself vibrate when the bag hits it? If so, there isn't sufficient foundation to get good action. If it's a cheap platform, you have to minimize vibrations any way you can.

    3. Swivel, but I doubt this is the problem. A cheap swivel will be, at the least, slower, but not slow enough to kill your action. However, a cheap swivel could affect the trueness of the rebound, a problem I talked about last week.

Here's my platform. Notice, it's thick...almost 2" like pro pltforms. It's also anchored to a steel i-beam. It doesn't vibrate WHATSOEVER when using it, no matter how hard I hit the bag. The 1/2" carriage bolts play a factor in this too.

In fact, I can actually hang all my body weight off this thing. You can't even do that with an $800 unit.

    NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Seriously, everyone think WD40 is the cure-all, but it's not as good as bicycle chain grease. Grease is smoother, quieter and lasts longer because of its higher viscosty and boiling point. I put WD40 on my bike chain and it was actually louder. Then I went to the bike shoppe, got a tube of grease for $10 and it purrs like a kitten, so I put it on my swivel too...same thing...smooooth like Crown Royal.

    You should try JCB lubircant...

Just don't get it on your hands though... bastard to get off, if we were using the crane attatchment at work the driver used to try and get it to swing and have the handle on the sucker covered in the stuff... you'd be laying teh flat stone so wouldn't notice... and then grab the handle...

    Arsehole... :P
