Back to Cintron, he had a belt, WBO Welterweight, which he then handed over to Margarito. As far as I know Collazo does not have a belt anymore either. Cintron has a better record, AND has another fight scheduled, WTF is Collazo doing right now except for bitchin?
Well I disagree,he has a right to man. He has gone from title holder to losing it all,not getting a rematch,a match with Quintana did not comethrough,he can't fight Cotto and this is all after his best performance of his career!!!

Collazo's problem is similar to Witter's situation after Zab beat him. He is in the "who needs him" catagory. Not many promoters will want to risk their fighters against Collazo after what he did to Hatton.

What are you smoking Citron never had The WBO welterweight belt Margarito has had it since 2002 and he defended it against Citron and got his ass beat down

He doesn't have an impressive resume.  The only real "win" on his record is Jose Antonio Rivera, which was a war, which he barely eeked out.  He is currently ranked 35th on boxrec and I agree with that.  I'd be more than happy to move him up, if he beat anyone from this list:

    Floyd Mayweather
    Antonio Margarito
    Carlos Manuel Baldomir
    Zab Judah
    Vivian Harris
    Paul Williams
    Oktay Urkal
    Juan Lazcano
    Kermit Cintron
    Carlos Quintana
    Frederic Klose
    Michel Trabant
    Cosme Rivera
    Joshua Clottey
    Oscar Diaz
    Kevin Anderson
    Steve Forbes
    Sharmba Mitchell
When u read that list it really does open your eyes to how good the welter division has become. Its definately the division to watch and surely where the most money is these days.

Although he doesnt have big name wins on his record, anyone that can go to war with Hatton like Collazo did gets my respect. I rate Collazo but I think when he comes up against the real big names he will get found out.
A bit like Demarcus Corley in a way that he is a test but not really a top contender(Although he has won a title).

vivian Harris - Has NEVER fought at welterweight
Oktay Urkal - Only fought 3 times at welter (agains Klose, Nestenako and Rimer) BIG BIG names there isnt there
Lazcano - Never fought at welter, Onlt fought 3 times at lightwelter
Trabant - Fought no one at welterweight except Rivera who he lost too. (collazo beat Rivera)
Klose - Lost to Urkal and trabant who are not too good (see above)
Cosme Rivera - KO'd in 3 by Judah, Lost to Morua who has lost to ben rabah (the guy who got beat by urango)
Mitchell - LOL, This guy is seriously past it now and he never really had it did he?? always got found out at the top level.

Based on all this i find it UNBELIEVABLE that you rank Collazo way way below them, How can a guy go from being world champ, putting in a great performance but narrowly getting beat to ranked 35 in the world, Some 15- 20 places below people above. SCANDALOUS!

I think, as Hatton put it himself:

"with only 7 weeks notice, it was more like a fight between the light-welter champ and the welter champ"

Hatton didn't really have a game plan going into that and for all his 'taking him seriously' bluster beforehand..i dont think Hatton actually did.

Perhaps the narrow win for Ricky has brought him down to earth and possibly a blessing in disguise - a moment of fear before the results were read out must have jolted Hatton...it must have.

I think we'll perhaps see the best of Hatton over his next few fights - he'll not slip up again like that.

With regards Luis Collazo - he's a fighter that only fans want to see - as any boxers around him are probably thinking he's a big risk with little reward - a bogeyman.

I think perhaps Hatton made luis look slightly and i mean slightly, better than he is.

With hindsight, it was more a case of Hatton looking so beatable in that fight that shocked the mind, rather than Luis looking so amazing.

Collazo has fast hands and good skills which nobody can argue - like a bigger Malignaggi - but i dont see anything more than that.

Nonetheless, he is a league above some other fighters at Welter - far more worthy of a title challenge than Gatti - and even Zab Judah, right here and now.

I look forward to seeing Luis Collzo in action again real soon.

I for one will be keeping an eye out for the announcement.
