But, something about this just seems wrong to me
Taylor should fight Calzaghe or Kessler.
    Yes, of course Royal

JT has beat guys better than Kessler has...I'm sure that fight will happen in the future as will a Taylor-Lacy fight, which I still want to see.

JT deserves his time at Middleweight, he'll move up when the time is right for him and that SHOULD be after he beats Ouma, Wright, Abraham, and Miranda.

Heres the deal Taylor Dwarfs Ouma and has a sizeable reach advantage....Ouma has never faced a Power Puncher like Taylor....Those Pitter patter punches are not gonna do anything to Taylor except create openings for him to counter HARD...

Taylor will keep him at the end of that jackhammer Jab and carry the fight until he has worked on some of his kinks and then will end it when he is ready..IMO

Only thing that scares me is that Jermain will neglect defense since Ouma wont be able to hurt him and thats something he clearly needs to work on to take him to the next level in his career

Ouma's Corner will throw in the towel by round 7.......

Jermain should knock Ouma the f*** out! Total mismatch.

I'm rooting for OOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUMMMAAA!!!!! I'd laugh my head off if Ouma won.

The picture just says it all. Ouma is a small 160 and Taylor is a giant 160 pounder.

On the way to losing, I do think Ouma will have his spurts of hope.
Taylor's defense is shyte for a pound for pounder.
And for a young fellow, Taylor is slow.

This could actually be more similar to the Raul Marquez fight

In all honesty...I think that this says a lot for Ouma...& very little for Taylor.

I like Taylor...& don't really care that much for Ouma. No reason...Ouma just hasn't really struck a chord with me.

The issues I have with Taylor are many. The first being that I don't think that he's fought to the maximum of his capabilities...or if he has...then I just aint that impressed. I think that he lost the first Hopkins fight & he definently lost the fight against Wright.

The thing is...Taylor, IWO, has fallen prey to what I like to refer to as "Vargasitis". His promotional team has rushed him into the big fights to early. I think that he should have taken out the lesser gents of the game & eased into the top slot...but...I aint his management...nor am I he.

    Anywho...back to Taylor vs Ouma.

I hate the fight. It's a step down for Taylor & a stupid fight for Ouma to take. Ouma's not really a viable opponent. He's not super star, he's not accomplished anything at 160lbs, & what's the point? Ouma got easily handled by Karmazin and he got dropped by Silva who is nothing more than weak opposition. Everyone has a bad night...but Ouma has proven to be less durable than most expected.

Taylor by TKO...but it's a wack ass fight that accomplishes nothing...unless ofcourse Ouma hits miracle street & outpunches Taylor down the stretch...but he better be on point & throw bunches.

Truthfully...I want Taylor to win the fight because I want Wright to win the rematch...which he will.

That being said WACKO I think the first fight with Hopkins was AWESOME, here's a young guy willing to risk his future (which is very promising still but then even more so) to fight the best right away!

The same should be said with the rematch and the Wright fight.

On one level the kid is writing checks he can just barely cash and on the other hand he's not winning as people want to see KO's, Domination, outboxing, out muscling, etc.

Ouma is a guy who JT can counter and should do so effectively and he'll be able to work with Manny more and that's good, in all reality he wants to fight Winky again...that's great he has the heart to fight ANYONE....but like you I do wish for him to show the talent that he's able to BEAT anyone

I dont blame Ouma one little bit for taking this fight...The adversity that kid had to endure is something we can NEVER fathom being a child and having to wield an assault rifle and murder people during civil unrest aint exactly like opening gifts under the Christmas tree with Mommy and Daddy....Yea he is overmatched and will probably lose, but to go from were he was to fighting the universally recognized Middleweight Champion and a chance for Boxing Immortality is one hell of road he has traveled.....Does it make sense from a Boxing perspective for him Hell NO!!!! But personal triumph and be on Stage fighting for one of Boxings most prestigious Titles is something any of us who had it decent to good life could only dream of, but for him to get this far and realize a dream...HELL YEAH it makes sense

The draw would have been better in the first Hopkins fight. Then Hopkins retires and Jermain is the heir aparent handing the veteran his first draw when he's just coming up. It would have been a wonderful for the hype train of taylor in terms of marketability to draw with Bernard Hopkins. But both of those "wins" hurt him more because it actually hurt his fanbase imo

You have your points BUT it's not Jermain's fault the fights were scored that way

No, its Dibella's. But I'm not getting into politics now.

It will cost Jermain down the road if he gets decisions he doesn't deserve.

Vargas got a decision he didn't deserve against Wright and as a result is thrown in with Trinidad(watch what happened)

Rico Hoye got a decision he shouldnt have against Montel Griffin.. as a result faced Clinton Woods(watch what happened)

Fighters even up and comers should get their losses when they deserve them. Maybe if Taylor got the draw he could hone his skills more and noit have to face the toughest fights that his talent is only keeping him up by when it should be skills and ability and ring smarts. Because talent can get you only so far. Thats my main point.
