actually, most people think otherwise after hattons very subpar debut at 147 against collazo.
hattons great at 140 and he should do his absolute best to stay there, but if he tries to go up to 147, its gonna end on a bad note for ricky

i have a hard time thinking of any halfway decent welterweight that wouldnt blow rickys a** back across the pond

    judah would SMOKE hatton............
williams would probably knock him out late in the fight..............
dont even get me started on what mayweather would do to him............
if mosely came back to 147 to fight hatton (i bet he would for the $$$ and another big name on his resume) he would probably shut ricky out in a very lopsided ud.............
hell, i'd even bet money on margarito beating hatton badly (another late ko)

hattons the absolute best at 140 (until he fights castillo ) but if he can no longer make weight, he should probably retire
trust me man! hatton at 140 is just glory hunting! he will beat eveyone at 140 safely! why doesnt he go to 147 and face some really oppostion ..... imo bring on Judah

fuck judah. bring on castillo, cotto, mayweather. the big guns. if hatton has only got 4 or so fights left before he calls it a day (thats what he reckons) then i don't want him wasting fights on the likes of judah. hatton would eat him if you ask me. it annoys me that he's got to fight urango. i want to see him in another clash of the titans like the tszyu fight. edge of your seat stuff.

I honestly dont see Hatton campaigning at 147, unless it's to fight Mayweather.

The only reason Ricky fought at the weight was to appease HBO as that was the only fight available at the time. Billy Graham has gone on record to state he never wants Hatton fighting at that weight again.

Even if he was to stay at 140 for the rest of his career, clean up the division and retire undisputed LWW champ, would that still not be good enough for some people?? I guess not.

Hatton starts his training today so we should see a marked improvement in his weight within 2-3 weeks.

Agreed. He's better off at 140. He can move up for a big fight with Mayweather, but really, Mayweather isn't a real welter. I can't wait for the Castillo fight. Then we'll find out if Rick is really the man at 140. That's clearly where Castillo is supposed to be now, and that's going to be the big showdown.

    Ricky's 5'6"

Hardly the frame to fight at 147.

his height doesn't mean jack shit mate. if anything it suits his style. look at tyson, he gave away 7 inches in height to some of the dudes he blew away.

So was Carmen Basilo and he beat Ray Robinson at Middleweight. Remember that, all who think Hatton has no chance against PBF!!
