I think Calzaghe is calling out Taylor b/c he knows the fight won't happen, at least right now. But, it will help him duck Kessler.

Look for Calzaghe to fight another B opponent in his next fight.

He better be careful what he wishes for in Taylor...

    Agreed...100%.

Unify & then move up...or down to face Taylor...or if Taylor moves up...or whatever...either way...he should fight Kessler before he does anything else.

It'll seem like he's on the dodge if he doesn't.

All Calzcrappy has done since his win over the overrated Jeff Lacy is fight a bum (Bika), call out a retired fighter (Hopkins), avoid a fighter calling him out (Kessler) and now call out a smaller fighter (Taylor). Yet, his loyal. misguided groupies still call him great.

    o.k....

So Hopkins is just a retired fighter? Taylor is too small?? So you'd give Calzaghe no respect for fighting 2 p4p fighters and 2 of the best fighters around his weight division since he's been around. What would he have to do to earn your respect?

Have you not read in numerous articles that Warren and Palle are in talks? If anything it would appear that Kessler is the one being difficult.

Yeah by offering to go to Calzcrappy's back yard, Kessler's being real difficult. Ever since that weekend where they both fought, Joe has gone from Hopkins to Taylor. Two fighters out of his division. Seems to me like he's doing everything he can to not make that fight happen. Just like he did when Sven Ottke was around.

    Hillarious.

I knew that you'd take a lot of flack for that statement...but it almost does have some merit to me.

It's known that I'm a huge fan of brutha Joesepf...but...BUT...if he doesn't make the Kessler fight...if he takes on Hopkins or Taylor or some chump...I'll be disgusted.

Nothing's crappy about Joe...unless he doesn't capitalize on his current position.

id rather see Joe C unify with Kessssssler and JT fight Winky II.

i doubt JC goes down to 160 he's even complained about making SMW weight before the lacy fight.

Violent Demise recent reports would suggest that Kessler isnt as keen to come to the UK as was first thought. Of course it goes without saying that if this turns into a real stumbling block the blame will be laid at Calzaghe's door and not Kessler.

I know Joe dosent want to hang around for a guy who he believes is beneath him so really, a fight between Cal & Kess has to be on Clazaghes terms unfortunately.

    Its understandable though...

Cal is at the tail end of his carrer and (despite getting his long sought after "career defining fight") he must want more... Now.

So i guess between 160 & 175, who is the biggest name?

Well, i guess his fellow undisputed champ at 160 gets a good vote. Also the two guys that everybody feels beat him would be ewually as good call up's, however on is retired and dreaming of fighting heavyweights while the other is just too samll, and quite fankly too smart to move up to 168.

So what about keeping it closer to home? I mean, for all his achievments, Cal is not exactly a household name is he?

Maybe the best thing to do is kill two birds with one stone, secure a fight which will be marketed as a domestic rivalry while aiming to be a two weight world champ. This move of course will open a whole load of other immediate opportunities for the welshman.... Maybe a fight at an even higher weight with an aspiring fellow Brit.

    Then again, maybe not.

We are prety unanimous in the idea of Cal unifying the 168 division being the only permissable move in regards to silencing the critics once again....

But since when did Joe condct himself according to the critics?

If they cant dig out another Bika

    Brian Magee's always available
Joe's travelled more than alot of fighters, not as much as he should have but he's fought
in both Germany and Denmark and won well in both. Yes he should go to America, but this fight will
be his 20 defence and mean alot to his fans so why not fight it on your home turf, nearly every boxer
    would do the same
Mate it's not about that. Reading between the lines you can tell what type of opponent Joe will be fighting in Feb/March.

They (FW) keep shouting "Joes next fight will be a superfight" ...Well if Kesslers team don't wanna give up home advantage, Cazlaghe and FW most certainly wont, so thats that fight fucked, for now.

The top American boys wont come over here.

SO, this will be a big fight because it's Joes 20th defence, equaling Hopkins record. That rules out a name at LH.

Throughout Cazlaghe's career they've called out every "superstar" name under the sun after every fight he's won but he's ended up fighting none of them (not ALL his fault). He's 34 with a fucked up hand and it's still happening.
