no1s really looked at it like this tho, what happens come the 8th round a corner know that the fight is thiers, and just coast the last 4 rounds..

If the crowd on Who Wants to be a Millionaire can vote instantaneously on 'ask the audience', why not use that technology somehow (i know that hometown fans would vote for their fighter, so is there a way to factor this out?)
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?

if you hadn't said it I would have.
EDIT: I thought of something else to add. we should not be forced to put up with judges who can't do their jobs. there are soccer refs in europe who have to deal with crowds who literally want to kill them after matches, and they suck it up and do their jobs. why can't boxing judges?
I personally don't think it matters if the scoring is open. if the judges are incompetent to the point where they "aren't even capable of operating a motor vehicle" like somebody else posted, then they are going to judge the fight incorrectly REGARDLESS of what we see or whether or not we know what the score is.
my 2 cents.
It could end a few questionable desicion controversies. They should test it for awhile and see how it goes.
It should be scored after 6 rounds.
That would be simpler.
Also, the judges (bar conspiracy and corruption) need not be at ring side, nor need they make a decision based on 1st viewing.
Why cant judges review the action with multi angles, in ring mics and a slow-mo button?
No but seriously. Why the fuck not?![]()

Because if they reviewed the fight they'd actually score the fight right and that would be a huge step backwards for boxing :POriginally Posted by The Bogeyman
I think it sucks. THe only way it could work imo is if the scores were called after each and every round.. As far as trainers strategy and all that, that's something you work on for weeks leading up to the fight.. If you have a fight where the scores are highly contraversial when they are called after 4 rounds, what then.. Pull a completely new game plan out even though the fighter is doing the right thing to capatalize on his strengths?? I don't think it would have a huge impact on what the judges scores are either way.. Think about it, if a fighter is clearly winning after 4 rounds, yet when the scores are read he is behind... The crowd will start to boo madly.. This begs the question in the fighters corner, a) do we change the gamplan becaus the judges clearly favour the opponents tactics, or b) hope that the crowds reaction will knock some sense into them and they'll score the rounds differently from now on. How is a fighter to know which will happen?? Even if the boxer does change his gameplan(which would no doubt happen frequently with bad judges and this system), doing so unneccesarily and not playing to his strengths and the others weaknesses just increases the chance of someone getting hurt. In close matches, if the slick boxer is falling behind in the judges eyes, should he start brawling it out, or vice versa?? It's a very flawed and stupid idea imo. Boxing is an endurance sport, it's about the whole picture, who wins at the end of 12 rounds, who eventually got to the other. All this would do is create reckless abandon even if it's totally unneccesary, anytime you had bad judging. Which is so, so often.
Why not just have a half time scoring update. Like as the 7th round starts, reveal the current scores the judges have and then you know at the half way mark who is winning on the cards. Then that still keeps it a bit of a mystery in the 12th and takes away no excitement.
