Mate i think your way off with you Calzaghe v Kessler fight, no chance Calzaghe is a 1/12 shot, considering Floyd was 1/7 to beat Baldy, i think best price 2/5 4/11 Calzaghe, this will be no walk over.Originally Posted by killersheep

I agree mate, Kessler is a serious fighter, and he will be coming into this as an underdog, but not that kind of underdog.Originally Posted by skel1983
Say what you want, but Kessler's style is MADE for Calzaghe. Kessler is good at what he does, but if you think about their styles, well that's really all you need to think about. To beat Joe you would need incredible speed or timing, I'm afraid Mikkel isn't good enough with either for me to reconsider the odds. If someone can show me a video of Kessler exhibiting good defense, incredible flurries or even lateral movement, I will reconsider, but until then, bleh.............Originally Posted by superheavyrhun

Im just saying mate, those odds will be miles off what the general price will be if the fight comes off, i think all the Kessler fans will be coming to you to place the bet.Originally Posted by killersheep
I have Calzaghe at 1/10 vs. Kessler, but at any rate, there were a few factors leading to Mayweather being 1/7, Baldy being the biggest guy he's fought, Baldy being the Champion, the amount of people wagering will swing odds way out of wack.Originally Posted by skel1983
Calzaghe and Kessler are both quantitatively known measures at Super Middleweight. There are very good probabilities that they will both use the same styles and at that point it's paper, rock, scissors.

That's fine I will take the money from the Kessler guys, lol I have no doubts in my mind.Originally Posted by skel1983

JOE C by KO!
Say what you want about Peter Manfredo Jr but this is what he wanted, a shot at a title. He could have taken Spinas titles but Peter said he wants to take a real fighters title. Here is his chance. Gonna to have to give Roach some credit for polishing up Manfredo Jr. He is not the same fighter on the Contender nor is he even the same fighter he was 3 years ago. I think Peter has a very good chance against Calzaghe. Joe Calzaghe is a decent fighter for a South Paw. He looked great against Lacy and that has been his greatest claim to fame (IMO) He has never been able to duplicate that performance. I would not count Peter out because he already knows what it is like to lose and he has bounced back, he also is more relaxed now with the experience of the Contender show/crowd/lights/camera (we can not take that experience away from him) but going into Joe C's back yard and taking Joe's title will be difficult and would have to be a knock out for Manfredo. It would be an intriguing fight, both fighters are ruthless. Call me crazy and you all know I can't stand Peter but I think he has a shot. If he ever had the underdog shot this is it and the Contender show was another completly different story. Peter has the momentum going for him and should take this once in a life time chance. I personally do not feel that Joe C is all that but he is what he is and he does what he does and wins. I would not mind seeing this fight. Peter seems to have a pretty tough beard and now it looks like he has a killer instinct which is something he lacked or lost on the Contender.
I don't care if what he beat was bums in his last two fights, the thing is he beat the crap out of the bums which he should have done. Peter Manfredo Jr would give Joe C a tougher fight than Jeff Lacy did. Can you argue that? I don't think so.
I don't think anyone can deny that JC is ducking Kessler if he fights Manfredo. It would be one thing if he were fighting Jermaine Taylor, Winky Wright or Bernard Hopkins. But this is undoubtedly a LESS significant fight than the Kessler fight on any conceivable level, and will be a complete walk-over. If he's going to fight again at SMW, it should only be to unify the titles against the #1 contender in the division--Kessler. This is pathetic.
Well Frank Warren has already said that because of the long injury layout between March and October, that he would not be looking for a huge fight for Calzaghe in the February date anyway, as he wants him on the top of his game, and the big fight for Joe would be coming in the summer. I've voiced my opinion on this before, but I think Manfredo, if you're looking for a tune-up fight, will give Joe a run-out but little more than that. I'd like to see a big fight too, but Frank's Frank, sadly.Originally Posted by shza

Manfredo is not in the class of Calzaghe. Why can't Calzaghe move up and challenge for the lightheavy title?
'coz there is no one at LH who is worth beating, but as it seems it will be calzaghe v taylor in the summer...Originally Posted by LegendBoxing65
That is an excellent fight for Calzaghe. I think he can beat Taylor. Alot of guys have come close. Taylor is the kind of guy who will go overseas and fight in the guys backyard also.
CBA to read the posts but if this fight happens i aint intrested.
