Oscar is hoping that the size difference will make the difference. If Floyd can hold the 154 pounds well he will do well.. Although fighting Baldomir is different than fighting Oscar. Oscar should get Manny Steward for this one. Manny could work on the jab and tell Oscar and give him pointers on how to fight Floyd.. Jab jab jab... Although if Floyd is too fast the jab will not do anything. And if Floyd comes in at 149 or so he will do fine just boxing and winning a decision. At least Floyd is fighting someone good for a change. This will do alot for him, but he also needs to fight some contemporary fighters.

yeah thats the obvious and only reason that makes sense. It's a day that means alot to him and his fans and it will give him an extra emotional boost to win.
also equal CRAZY PPV revenue due to all the latino families gathering for family functions already, its really $$$ behind it more so than anything else to be honest. thats keepin it REEEAAAAAAAL!
Your COMPLETELY off on this one here.............
Let me ask you something do you honestly think ODLH is hurting in the pocket? Your saying it's ALL about the $$$$$....
It's no longer about the money for ODLH, it has nothing to do with that HE pays himself whatever he want's to....
Take a WILD guess whos signing that check thats gonna be made out to PBF?
    It's simple....

IMO..... This is a confident booster, to give him the edge to motivate himself to go out there and do his best....

He likes to fight on 5 de Mayo day and or weekend and or around that time he also likes to fight in Sept. 16 and or the weekend of that day due to Mexican Independence Day..... (IF you remember HE said was gonna fight this year on Sept. for the Mexican Ind. weekend instead he had MAB fight on that weekend) Yes!! it's true and he has said it himself that he does it as it is a GREAT weekend for all the people of Mexican decent to celebrate their heritage and enoy a good fight.... The way you TheBestP4P are putting it is as if ODLHs ONLY reason to do it that day is to sell PPV, tickets etc. etc. etc.
When we all know ODLH could be fighting on our wedding day, someones funeral, someones kidney translplant and still we would not miss his fight for the WORLD.....

Even SalTheButcher whos probably the BIGGEST ODLH hater here wouldn't miss this fight for anything.... Ain't that right Sal?

ODLH has said he likes to fight in May if possible May 5th, he has fought and won in May against the following fighters:
Frank Avelar 15-3 / ODLHs 7th career fight
Giorgio Campanella 21-0-0 / 1st defense of his WBO Super Featherweight title
Rafael Ruelas 43-1-0 / For the IBF Lightweight title & WBO Lightweight title
Oba Carr 48-2-1 / For the WBC Welterweight title
Yory Boy Campas 80-5-0 / For the WBC Light Middleweight title & WBA Light Middleweight title
Ricardo Mayorga 28-5-1 / For the WBC Light Middleweight title

He also likes to fight in Sept. if possible the 16th heres his fights in Sept:
Genaro Hernandez 32-0-1 / For the WBO Lightweight title
Hector Camacho 63-3-1 / For the WBC Welterweight title
Julio Cesar Chavez 101-2-2 / For the WBC Welterweight title... In fucken tears this day as my new hero destroyed my legend...
Felix Trinidad 35-0-0 / For the WBC Welterweight title & IBF Welterweight title
Fernando Vargas 22-1-0 / For the WBC Light Middleweight title, WBA Light Middleweight title & IBA Light Middleweight title
Shane Mosley 38-2-0 / For the WBC Light Middleweight title, WBA Light Middleweight title & IBA Light Middleweight title
Bernard Hopkins 44-2-1 / For the WBA Middleweight title, WBC Middleweight title, IBF Middleweight title, WBO Middleweight title

Also if you notice hes had better luck fighting in May rather then Sept.

I totally disagree with you. I'm sure that ODLH has had this planned out for a while. ODLH won his title from Mayorga on May 6, 2006 knowing that he would have a full year before he had to defend it. Cinco de Mayo is the craziest holiday for latinos, hell even non-latino, go crazy and party on Cinco De Mayo. When ODLH realized that May 5, 2007 fell on a Saturday, I'm sure that he probably busted a nut on himself. The guy is probably the best busnessman boxing has ever seen. BTW, Oscar couldn't do the MONSTER numbers this PPV would without Floyd. Oscar could fight Cory Spinks but that PPV wouldn't do half the numbers that this one would do. Cinco De Mayo, PBF, PBF's undefeated record and #1 P4P ranking, PBF Sr drama, WBC Light Middleweight Championship, leader of the old guard vs. master of the new guard, give me a break ODLH knew damn well Cinco De Mayo = $$$$$$$$$$ BTW, if this really was only about getting respect, I'm pretty sure that ODLH would have fought Winky instead of Floyd. But beating Floyd coming up to 154 is still a HUGE task.

I think that Floyd should come in heavy. I'm not saying that he should bulk up a whole lot but I think that he should get with a good nutritionist and try to put on a good, healthy 10 pounds and then come down from 157-158 to 154 for the fight. Floyd's a small guy, but just having the weight to not allow ODLH to push him around easily might help him trendmendously. Plus, more weight behind those body shots, will DEFINITELY help out late. Floyd doesn't have a bunch of speed past 140 (the last fight where you could truly say he could fast was against Gatti). I think now he's elusive and his elusiveness comes from years of heavy, heavy gym work, he sees the punches before they come and can use his shoulder and gloves to block everything. This is why he's hard to hit. If you watch the Baldy fight, Baldy actually landed some punches unlike Gatti, but Floyd can take a jab, or a shot that doesn't have a lot on it, or a partially blocked big shot. Floyd just hardly ever gets caught with big shots. I can name three time Floyd's been caught with big shots from good fighters Corrales (smack dab on the chin and he smiled), Corley (he was out on his feet for a bit), and Judah (around the ear and lost his equilibrium). Once he gets caught, he might be a little buzzed, but he will defend himself and won't get hit with anything to further worsen the damage. The one thing that makes this ODLH - PBF fight great is that you just never know when you're fucking with Oscar's left hook. You just never know. Man, have I mentioned that I'm amped for this fight like it's tommorrow.

Mayweather is still incredibly fast at 147... He foot movement is still fast, and so is his handspeed... He isn't as quick as when he was 130, but nobody would be. His upper body was moving faster than Baldomir's hands, and fast or not no other boxer except Zab Judah is that quick. Mayweather will tremendously quick at 154 because he has so much time to gain the weight... Instead of just bulking up he will be able to work on the switch fibers in his muscles and go to the wieght much like Roy went to the heavyweights, and like Hopkins went to the light-heavyweight division. IMO even at 154 there should still be a substantial speed differential between the two fighters which from what I've seen will be far too great for Oscar to overcome because Floyd also possesses impeccable timing, accuracy, and perhaps is even improving his defense.

I dont think PBF should go bulking up past the limit to go shedding weight, its only six month to go and that would be an insane amount of stress on the body.

Besides, he would only be shedding muscle wich is not good at all. (Ask Roy Jones )

God knows what his plan will be for bulking up. For all the divisions he's fought in he's never had to deal with pilling on the pound... Which could be argued can only be good for your longevity & overall conditioning.
