    Matty--

great observation on how the GBP is taking a stranglehold of the promotions--and the ability to even do the matchmaking.

Agreed, everyone seems to be talking about Urango like he is a bum on the streets ? Its a great match up,, the thrill factor will be very high ! I think its excellent matchmaking !
No, Urango is a bum on the streets. Period. He's severely flawed and definitely not a top 5 guy at 140. Who's he beaten? No one. He certainly didn't beat Ben Rabah to win that belt. Seriously, this fight is a joke. But I'll forgive it if the Castillo fight actually gets made next. I still think Hatton ought to be giving Collazo the rematch he promised him--that fight would be a bigger event than this one will be, for sure.

Collozo is too big for Ricky.. no need to rematch that fight. Ricky won it , almost got drug under the boat in the process. Urango stylistically is a good match for Hatton. both like to fight. should be pleasing to the eye. even so Urango is the Champion, even if he won it on a bullshit dec.. bullshit dec happen all the time. plenty of titles won on bullshit.

It's stylistically a good match for Hatton in that Hatton will destroy him because he's not in the same league. I guess. Should be pleasing to the eye because Urango has no defense, will throw wild bombs and eventually get KO'd. Seems consistent with Urango being a bum.

Seriously, whoever is looking forward to this fight is a fucking moron. Urango got a HUGE gift decision for his belt, he definitely lost the fight. Hatton is so far out of this guy's league, that it makes me sick. It's not like Floyd-Baldy where Baldy was a natural welter so his size could at least give me an advantage against Floyd. Urango is big, but Hatton is a monster at 140. If Hatton wanted to go back to 140, he should have at least fought someone nameworthy like Vivian Harris or finally shut Junior Witter's bitch ass up. But he's fighting Urango, and some of you are excited? Get the fuck outta here. This will be a 4th round knockout, and half of you Hatton fans will be elated claiming Hatton is back. Hatton is not trying to be great. Floyd is moving up to 154 against a "legend" in his first fight, yet people continue to talk shit about him, but Hatton moves down to 140 after almost getting beheaded by Collazo, and nobody says shit about Hatton. Talk about fucking hypocrites. This fight is bullshit.

dont remember anyone talking shit about him beating Gatti... they was a claim that Gatti was shot to bits ((TRUE)) but dont think anyone talked shit about what mayweather had just done to him...

they did talk shit about his fight with baldy though... and for good reason IMO

not sure if you have been reading the post as hatton has been well slated after his preformance against Callazo hell this place was full of negative hatton posts after that fight.

never liked the fact that a Mayweather fan will take a jib as Hatton when his fighter puts up a bad showing

and visa versa when a Hatton fan takes a jibe at Mayweather to make his point about hatton.

never under stood that crap if im honest

    HELL YEAH!

You cannot take another figther's short comings and make them your strengths!

PBF ran all night vs Baldomir and Hatton had trouble with Collazo but how does that add up as good or bad for either fighter in the long run

It might affect things if they fought each other and used those in training.....but it looks to me like that's not going to happen.

Hatton being worked hard by a big southpaw with a good chin and still winning......doesn't affect how good Floyd Mayweather Jr is!

    and

Floyd running around Baldomir all night doesn't affect how good Hatton is.

That's obviously true, but I really don't think anyone's said otherwise. The point albsur was making was about hypocrisy. The problem I have with this sort of thing is the notion that there's some equivalence between (a) Hatton getting outpointed on a lot of people's cards and then moving down in weight to fight Urango and (b) Floyd winning every single round to take the WW championship and then moving up in weight to fight De la Hoya. As if these two things are both equally bad and subject to the same criticism. And when the same person who defends Hatton for (a) is so quick to criticize Mayweather for (b), it just smells funny.

I understand that people didn't find Floyd's performance "entertaining," but the the fact is that he pitched a shut out in a lineal championship fight. How that could possibly reflect poorly on his quality as a boxer (not as an entertainer) is still a little beyond me.

I don't think anyone's ever said that Floyd's domination of Baldomir "affects how good Hatton is" one way or another--that wouldn't make any sense.

Hatton is willing to risk losing in order to win , that style simply makes for excellent viewing.

Im exited about the fight big time, if I was 140lb id be pretty weary of this guy. He looks like a mini Mike Tyson.

Judging from his last fight, you are dead on. He's like a 2006 version of Mike Tyson. Hatton will throw his guy in the dumpster.
