I also don't understand the people who criticize Taylor for not looking good in his last 3 fights, when the two guys he faced, Hopkins and Winky, are the two most difficult guys to look good against of the last 10 years.
Someone explain how to win in entertaining fashion against Hopkins and Wright, because no one has done it yet.
Well said. Taylor won that first fight against Winky and he will win even more convincingly if there is a rematch. He is younger, stronger, faster, and is only going to get better. He already has great experience having fought Hopkins twice and Winky once. I lost alot respect for Winky after the Taylor fight. The way he acted after the fight was childish. And Winky definitely has priced himself out. For him to front like Jermain is ducking him is a total joke.
I'm with pea, zhubin, and frozen on this one. Way to bring it home guys.

Taylors like the Rodney Dangerfield of boxing these day. He take on 2 of the best p4p defensive wizards, gives them both hel, and gets dissed for it. The 1st fight with Hop and the Winky fight were close. But no one got robbed.
Taylor hasnt ducked anybody. Now hes taking on Ouma whose no slouch. After that he wants Calzaghe at 168.
Thumbs up to JT for not taking a ride on the tomato can express.

I'll be rooting against Winky: I am tired of hearing him bitch after slapboxing his way through 12 rounds, and not getting the decision.

Im with you guys, IMO Taylor lost one of the Bernard fights, won the other and beat Winky. To say he ducks everyone is nonsense, after fighting the LONGEST REIGNING MIDDLEWEIGHT champ of ALL TIME, he took on another defensive wizard in Winky.

If Winky feels like that, then he should have taken the offer made by Taylor's team,I'm sure that even if it was not 50-50,,he would be getting more than he is for this fight. I like Winky alot but he sure does moan alot!!

Jermain's people did not want him to fight Winky immediately however Taylor wanted to fight Winky again... about Winky losing to Quartey ... no way, and HE DID NOT lose to Jermain hence he deserves 50/50 in the next fight considering almost everyone thought he won... His record should be 52-0-1

He was knocked down 5 times by Julio Cesar Vasquez. I didn't see that fight, but I find it hard to believe that he deserved to win that one.

Vazquez beat his ass, Simon out worked him and Vargas barely hung on to win. Wright losses are legit losses.

Taylor's from Arkansas, but it was technically a hometown fight, since the main reason it was held in Memphis was to draw Taylor fans from Arkansas, the Arkansas border being right across the river from Memphis.

For example, Gatti's not from A.C., but he lives and trains in Jersey, so for all intents and purposes A.C. is his fighting hometown.

Taylor was the "house" fighter, that might be the best way of putting it. Anyway, I had the fight a draw, so I don't think the judges were unfairly swayed in any direction. If Winky didn't like the decision, then he shouldn't have fought the 12th round like he did.

Wink got that right. a slick cagy fighter, with an impenetrable defense.. You only want to fight this guy when its mandatory . Winky make you look bad all night long, even if you winning the fight.

Fighting Wright is like trying to fuck someone wearing a chastity belt.

How can you say Taylor won? Did you see the fight? Look at the aforementioned punch stats, and then I dare you to say Taylor won. Also he wasn't faster than Winky at all.. or stronger. The only thing he could do was hit harder which isn't necessarily strength related especially considering he puts alot more of himself behind his punches than does Winky.

I had Taylor winning by 2 rounds. Taylor was the aggressor and threw more punches in the fight. Wrights peak a boo defense don't win points in my opinion . granted Wright would work the last 30 seconds of the rounds and try to steal ,the only problem is there a 3 mins to a round. and for 2: 30 seconds of a round Wright was getting the worst of it.

    Just my opinion

I seem to remember someone picking Taylor to blow Wright out of the water and win by KO. Wanna refresh my memory as to who that was?
