HHMM .... not wanting to disagree with a forum greatest of all time .
(and a 5 glover to boot!) BUT!!
CLEAN EFFECTIVE.....peters punches weren't clean...anything but! slipping.sliding, partially blocked, rolled with...Toney cant be hit CLEAN.period.
Toney's Punch's were the clean ones, landing square right on the side of the mellon and the jab stiff into Peter's Kisser.
The second part...the key here is the word "effective" following a guy around the ring and eating counterpunches is not (again in my most humble opinion) "effective", cutting off the ring, cornering the guy, working the body and head hard on the inside, pinning him in the corner would be effective. Peter did none of these things. The only effective punchs Peter landed were illegal shots to the back of the head.
90% of the ringside observers, knowledgable boxing people one would assume, had Toney winning the last fight. I'm with them.
The public (and probably official non-publicised) criticism of the last fights judging precipitated a rematch and will effect this fights judging.
Let's hope there's a
clear winner this time! Toney to stand and back Peter up with combinations. Or Peter with a big KO!
