The first film. The whole thing is an entertaining series but the first film can stand by itself as a classic.

As a kid 4 was the best, love the training montage.

fuck no rocky IV or universal arn't Dolph's best movie's! has no one seen He man and the masters of the universe. thats his best film.
the best rocky movie is rocky IV though. 'heart on fire, strong desire'. its got the best montage of all the movies including what i've seen from the trailers of the new one.
and the sound track 'there's no easy way out'. awesome film.

Part 4 was by far the best, I was only 7 when I saw it at the movies but I had butterflies in my stomach when the final match was about to begin. At the time the USA and Soviet Union were at the height of the cold war and arms race. Ivan Drago kills Rocky's best friend in the ring throws the ref out of the way and then give's a corny ass interview to the public stating "if he dies he dies". Rocky then goes to the Soviet Union and defeats him on his own turf, how can this not be the best one, how can Clubber Lang be a better Villian than Drago who was hitting with thousand's of pounds of pressure in one of the most technical boxing gyms ever to be seen by man. Four also had better special effects than any of the others as well as a great soundtrack that was played throughout the movie, they even had the drama scenes such as Rocky driving in his Ferrari catching flashbacks of him an appollo having fun while listening too "There's no easy way out" you guy's are crazy.

In all honesty I do think 4 was the most entertaining but the most unrealistic. Nevertheless it was a good movie, but Rocky 1 was the foundation. Ivan Drago was the best Rocky villian and I am serious about that.

Creed was the best by a mile because he was a real character. Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago were just cheap cardboard charicatures with no substance to them whatsoever.

Its entertaining if your'e about 12 and think that Terminator 2 is the greatest film ever but Rocky 1 was an oscar worthy film with complex, multidimensional characters and a gritty realistic film.

Rocky 4 is more like an extended MTV video, great for working out to but not a film to sit down and watch.

Well my Fav is Rocky 3 and then 2 and 4, But I liked Rocky 5 because of TM, I thought he did an very acceptable job as his character, But I believe Rocky's son story and acting made it very cheesy.

hmm.. Rocky 1 by a long shot, as other people have said, the others just dont have the grit and realism of the #1, the only other one which comes close for me is #5, i dont know why but i love #5 too even though people hate it.

Bilbo dont start talking about Terminator 2 ! (it rocks)

I had to go with 4. I like them all but the age I was when I saw 4 and the impact it had makes it stand out the most.

When I was in the military I had this theory that all the fat bodies, and broke dicks never watched the Rocky movies. I was joking when I said it, but then when I would ask them, none of them had seen it. I used to tell them that was why they were so physically weak, cause they watched movies like "Crying Game" and "You've got mail" and sat around crying. Instead if they watched the Rocky movies growing up, they would have got their big arses off the couch and tried to do one arm pushups and all the other funky training stuff Rocky did.

Cause I know everyone here tried to do one arm pushups when you saw Rocky doing it.

I never understood the popularity of T2. I mean the first one was a sci fi classic, hard hitting, gritty, adult. The second one they completely and utterly ruined by turning him in to some kind of babysitter to some annoying Home Alone style kid.

Fucking hated that movie, just complete American mainstream tacky shit.

T3 was suprisingly good though, at least the kid was now grown up.

I loved them all but first one has to be myfavourite of course - more realistic fighting.

Two was great though the double knockdown ending was a bit daft.

I have high hopes for the new one, can't wait

4 is my favorite just because it's so ridiculously excessive.
