yes, although up for it, I remember Thaxton saying he understands he'd be a massive underdog

3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Watson (The only man to properly floor Khan) wants the rematch
Khan may go for him just to prove a point (you know how boxers get when it comes to settling old scores)

Memphis your spot on with your comments. He's just turned 20. The hype is justified because at 17 he won olympic silver. FACT. He got the silver medal....so he can obviously box. I don't think he would beat Earl or Thaxton over 12 rounds. But thats only because of lack of experience and the stamina won't quite be there. Throwing World Champs into the frame at this point is a desperate way of trying to get your point across. Diego Corrales can't even beat Joel Casamayor so how do expect a 20 year old boy with about 25 rounds of experience to be able to do it?
I'm also getting a little annoyed with the remarks about him having no chin. His chin is untested....but its far too early to suggest that its Zab Judah like. I'm not saying he has a chin like Carlos Baldomir, i'm just saying it's untested and unfair to suggest otherwise.
The same has to be said about his power. At this stage he doesn't look like a concussive puncher. But the fact he couldn't put away a natural Welter, doesn't mean he can't punch. Ricky Hatton had trouble hurting Collazo (a natural welter) but i know Ricky hatton can punch. I've seen the proof.
As far as i'm concerned it doesn't matter if he fights bums for the next year or so. He's building up experience and he's getting acclimatised to the professional game. He's fightin like every 8 weeks anyway. He's in a no win situation. If he knocks a guy out inside a minute, he's beaten a bum/probably has stamina issues (similar to Edwin valero). If he goes the distance, he's over rated.
A fight with John Murray would be exciting but i see Kahn being a bit too big for John. Maybe a bit too quick as well. I think a fight with Carl Johanneson would be a lot tougher (if we are talking super feather like murray) .Tougher than maybe Thaxton or Graeme Earl up at lightweight.
Finally, skel and smashup i have a lot of respect for you 2 guys on here. You both talk sense and i normally tend to agree with you....especially regarding british boxing. Obviously we have a difference of opinion on this occassion but it wouldn't be fun if everyone shared the same opinion.

Oh yeh my mistake. Sorry Mate i was on your side anyway. I think Thaxton gets handled by anybody world class tbh. He's WBU/Commonwealth/EBU level like Earl, Michal Hunter, Gary Lockett etc. No more, No LessOriginally Posted by Memphis

Im just sitting, waiting....and seeing.
The poor kid has been scruinized from the start, but the problem is hes starting to believe his own hype, and that hype is off the chart.
I remember i went to see his second fight, when he was on the undercard of Calzaghe-Ashira.
There was about 20-30 indian lads there, all tooting horns, toting Tshirts that said "Khans Army" and generally being a bit leary. No other boxer has had this much following on there second fight, and this Khans army thought Khan was the absolute bollox. That is the reason i want to see him lose, to show all these people that believe the hype that Khan is actually mortal, and isnt going anywhere anytime soon. But as long as Warrens his manager, we'll keep seeing the same old publicity and same old low-end pro fights.
