Corrales may fight at 140 too i heard - nothing certain yet, plus after Junior Witter winning a title theres even more domestic interest there. OK not the biggest fights in the world but a lot of the big fights at welter arent an option now with Zab, Gatti and Baldomir all recently beaten and pretty boy moving up again for De La Hoya. Cotto and Margarito maybe fighting each other soon which I see Cotto winning there just arent as many huge fights for Ricky at welter as there looked to be not too long ago. Better to dominate one division and unify than fight a bunch of guys already beaten and maybe past their best.

I had a feeling he would be different from other unknowns on the world title chase but i had seen him fight and fight well, shown promise before.. in a few interviews even years before he fought tszyu i knew he would make it big eventually cos he was always talking about the big names in the humble manner which he does.. When zab was the big champ he was mentioning zab.. and when tszyu became the undisputed champ he was talking about tszyu .. always looking to be the linear champ and not the paper champ!..
thats the difference between hatton and mayweather..
although both have earnt and dropped titles without a second though and both were looking for the big fights i feel hatton went about it alot better and was looking to be the man who beat the man..
nothing against floyd until the point he left lightweight.. where i was alot bigger a fan of him!..
but thats the point where floyd changed a bit..
hatton knew kostya was the linear champ and would be so for a fair while so he went looking for that fight.. like why he took the smaller/ mediocre fights on the build up they all tied in with his urge to fight kostya .. vince phillips was the only one to have beaten tszyu so hatton beat him.. fought olivera and other such names who were tied in with phillips tszyu sharmba mitchell... tried quite hard for a bout with mitchell also..
i think floyd bieng the different character he is was also biased on money issues aswell when making his fights and when moving up he looked for fights where the paycheck was big whether the title was legit or not..
i mean wasnt the wbc title vacant when gatti won it cos kostya dropped it? and floyd should have stuck around and fought ricky then i think.. most do!! but cant dwell on that..
    anyway..wrappin it up!!
    Peace

Tszyu was battling two foes in the ring: A corrupt ref, and a fouling jackass who thinks he's a Thai boxer.

LMAO!! In all fairness, even though Ricky got away with things,Kostya himself didn't complain and he did hit Ricky back low at times too although I think anywhere else,Hatton would not have been allowed to get away with such rough house tactics.

Corrrales will most likely go to 147,140 would be hard for him to make too. Witter would be a big domestic fight but in terms of exposure Stateside,I think Hatton needs to move to 147. There are plenty of fights there, heck if ALLLLLLLL the big naems are busy, rematch Collazo because alot of US fans see that as Ricky being beaten back to 140 even though he actually won the fight!I like the unification idea but I think Hattons thinking exposure,$$$$!!!

Honestly watch Tszyu, he's just as rough. At one time he even tried to hit hatton in the hamstring, possibly aiming for his ligaments.

They were both trying to rough each other up and neither of them complained, not during or after the fight - Ricky was just better at it.

Admittadly, it was in one of the many clinches in the fight, I'll watch the fight again, and point it out on the youtube. (Like I need another excuse to watch the fight again )

Proof of corrupt refs have we?.. thought so
Fact is there were two badass though fighters in there..
    they both came to fight..
both hatton and tszyu were ' roughing eachother up'.. doing things like elbows holding theyr opponents head back..
hatton hit tszyu with one notable low shot.. the only one that could legitimately be argued as intentional..
same to tyszu regarding two low blows..
And niether complained because they knew what they came to do and they didnt cry and call eachother names cos they both consented to fighting that kind of fight..
The fact that you make such ill arguement as fouling 'jackass, allegations of corruption and reference to thai boxing just takes away what a great fight it was!!
Its proof of an ill arguement that your not confident enough to state a case without backup and by just name calling at a great humble fighter..

Proof? Are you joking? Just watch the fight and try to not to be so biased. Tszyu LEGITIMATELY knocked down Hatton with a LEGIT body shot and Hatton was given a pass by that
ref who was obviously payed off by Warren. What about all of the illegal elbows that Hatton threw? That really only happens in U.F.C., Pride, or other forms of M.M.A.
If the truth be known, Hatton should have been disqualified during that fight. I hear all of you Hatton fans minimizing his blatant disregard for the rules of prize fighting by calling him a physical fighter... That's like saying that a serial rapist has an over active libido.
Hatton is a piece of shite and I hope that Urango batters him in the most brutal fashion.

Hatton destroyed Tszyu though and even though KT has been inactive etc,Ricky would beat him even if he was active,he has the right style to and honestly,he fought like a man impervious to pain! Even when Kostya did land,Hatton just walked right through it! That shocked me!
If you have the fight on tape, watch one of the middle rounds and notice how Tszyu knocked down Hatton with a clean body shot, but was called a low blow by the hometown referee. As Yogi would say, "you could look it up."

Tell me which round it is please and I'll check it! You're not the first person to point this out so may be you guys are right! Anyone else see this potential knockdown??
