I agree with some of you guys,I would like to see some new blood here, someone fresh and young with alot of power and skill! Someone who just goes on a wreck, destroys all the champs in the division 1 by 1. Although we have some decent HW's,none of them are brilliant are they? For boxings most popular division, you need 1 true stand out fighter, and I don't see that right now.

08 is the year for new blood imo.

Povetkin, Witherspoon, Chambers (from what I hear), Greenberg (Israeli heavweight, good amatuer and is undefeated in the pros) all will make a splash in 08 imo.

I'm a Witherspoon guy because he is extremely active. Throws 100 punches a round throughout the whole fight and doesn't seem to tire. But Povetkin probably has the most potential just because he is so rounded and has that World Championships title and the Gold medal in the amateurs. Good power in both hands, throws crisp punches, doesn't waste much, has real good punch selection. Only seen a few fights but he's definitely good. Only 10 fights and he's probably going to be sheltered in Europe for a while but he's good. If you can watch the Richard Bango fight, Bango was a silver medalist himself and fought Vaulev 2 fights before Povetkin and Povetkin completely overwhelmed him and ended up knocking him out cold.

Another guy...can't remember his name, Dimitrako or something like that? I'm looking all over boxrec for him can't find him but he's 6'7 and from the Ukraine. Sound like someome?

I'm guessing by your recommendation of Greenberg that you havn't actually seen him fight? He looks awful, fat and out of shape, always struggling against bums and relying on his power to put them away.

I know he's young but trust me he ain't winning fuck all. Audley Harrison is a much better prospect than him.

I've seen a youtube video on him at BoxingScene once. He looked pretty good. Didn't look fat either? But there was a topic on him at BS once and didn't seem like anyone was down on him and he looked pretty good in the video. Don't know what fight I watched or anything but I assumed it was recent. Searched him on youtube but his name returns nothing.

Only one I haven't seen fight is Chambers.

I've seen a youtube video on him at AUTO MESSAGE: SORRY THIS SITE NAME AND ANY CONTENT FROM IT IS BANNED FROM THIS FORUM PLEASE DELETE once. He looked pretty good. Didn't look fat either? Greenberg was a decent prospect two or three years ago. He hasn't come on at all in the past 18 months however, he's still fighting tomato cans and always looks poor.

I've seen about 5 of his fights and every fight his opponent is giving him problems for about 3 or 4 rounds until he knocks them out. Granted he's got some power but I don't think he's even fought a guy rated in the top 100 yet.

Hi last fight was against a 39 year part timer who was winning the fight until he got caught after 3 rounds. Before that he fought a guy who the commentators said Greenberg needed to look really good against in order for his career not to become stuck. Again he struggled for several rounds until his superior power came through.

For all the talk about his hand speed and boxing skills he looks really ordinary. Easy to hit, one dimensional, and recently he hasn't looked in the best condition.

Seeing as he fights out of the UK and represents Israel, who to my knowledge don't have any boxers, makes me want to see him do well but honestly he hasn't improved at all in 2 years.

Hopefully all these prospects actually turn out good then we might have the best heavy division in a while.

Yeah Klit will grab either Maskaev's (WBC) or Briggs's (WBO) belts
Valuev will prolly be fighting overweight girlscouts.

I won't tell you the answer but I'll give some clues. The answer is 1 word, it has 2 letters, it starts with an N and it ends with an O. I know it'll be tough but let me know if you figure it out.

I think the days of unified alphabet titles is done. If Wlad takes another belt, I think the world will recognize him as the Undisputed Heavyweight Champ. If he beats Maskaev, he will become the Ring Heavyweight Champ(which is often refered to as the universially recognized championship)
