i think hopkins will be considered a greater middleweight but roy will be considered greater all time fighter...... to be honest i dont know why they say hopkins fought better opponents amean if u really look at it hopkins had less accomplishemnts then roy did ....... andim not the one that sais roy hand picked his opponets because he fought every champion and every #1 contender he had to.. so i give it to roy

I dunno mate..I disagree..And this coming from a big tito fan aswell...
I think felix was definately not past it.. He could still punch at middleweight, has always and probably will always be able to take a punch.. Remember tito was up at nine against Bhop.. and felix sr walked in for the fight to be stopped.. And felix was still young and in great shape..28/9 years of age..
I dont beleive that it was the fact that tito is not legitimately a middleweight..
I beleieve that styles make fights and bernard saw the joppy fight and made a great decision on how to box and slowly break felix down over twelve rounds...
As did winky..Winky never let tito far enough into the fight to have his great attributes make count.

How ever with Oscar its a completely different case..Tito was a natural welterweight.. Maybe more so filled out at light middle..So not so much difference..
Oscar on the other hand is a super featherweight.. and has filled out better since the hopkins fight..
Thats a long way from home when theres a true middleweight fighting someone who began his career so much lighter..
The greatness in the fight was the fact that he gets the credit because of oscars big name..
Good chin which had yet still been carried to the upper divisions..
And it was the fairy tale fight..Unification .. all the belts..
And oscar definately had the chance because yes he has mad skills..
But when the night came..The fairy tale didnt come together and oscar lost..
He had a chance..But bernard pulled it off and fair play to him..

    True, HOWEVER
is that because bhop stayed in the division his whole career??
but roy jones became champs in 4 different divisions??
And my feelings on this duece my man is simple...
For one thing..I worship Bernard for bieng so dedicated as to be able to make middleweight for his entire career..until the age of 40 and a bit... They put this down to bernards dedication to doing alot of running and it evidently kept him in great shape..
But as for the several weight classes thing..
I see little difference in the greatness personally..I personally like to see a completely undisputed champ.. Its all very nice to be a pound for pound great and be able to fight several weight classes..
But the glory is just as nice to be undisputed and call your division 'Yours'..
Plus bernard to this day has never been stopped and that in itself is still a great achievement.

I dont know that Jones could specifically say middle and super middle were his quite in the same way..
But i totally agree with you that neither are any superior..Both are awesome accomplishments..
Roy on the one hand can be considered a real champ at those weight's because he didnt fight the nobodies..He was the man who beat the man..For titles fights bernard hopkins and james toney were the men to beat at the time so roy was THE champ at those weights and not a paper champ..
    So yeh no arguemnts brother.

Probably true. I hate to admit it. But probably true. For a whole career, I'd give it to Hopkins, for all the reasons other people already mentioned, longevity included.
