This Toney fan couldnt see the fight live and have only just managed to see it now. Tough fight to swallow. 3 points down after 2 rounds and having to deal with that power and being unable to hurt the other guy. Thats tough.

No excuses though, Peter put him down and outworked him. He is really improving.

Really impressed with Peter, the combos the uppercuts. He was doing the shuffle?

Yeah it was a sight, right after the final bell he was dancing like crazy, he did some hilarious showboating in the 10th and 11th, victory must be sweet for Peter when he had to listen to so much trash talk and doubters.

i thought peter would win because he had gone to the effort of losing 8 pounds where as toney was pound heavier from last fight i thought peter would win by about 3 or 4 rounds but looks like he won by 9 points i didnt expect it that easy and i didnt expect him too floor toney but i expected him to win decision by about 3 or 4 rounds

Peter's singing after the fight was an eye opener too!!

He comes across more and more as being quite a likeable fella...

Well I'm probably one of Toney's biggest fans on here, he's my all time favourite fighter but the result was not really suprising.

He just doesn't have the tools to win a major fight against a real top heavy.

Should he hang up the gloves though? I don't know. I've always felt that Peter was the best heavyweight out there after Wladimir and he proved it tonight.

Peter looked great, his stamina has improved noticably and he looked a lot slimmer than before.

On a personal level as a Toney fan I'm gutted but to be honest as regards the futre of the heavyweight division Peter is still the most exciting guy out there, and the only fighter who has a realistic shot of dethroning Wlad.

As for Toney, I am going to place a bet on William Hill today that he will fight either Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones or Antonio Tarver before the end of 2007.

You can bet your house on one of those fights happening

I'm a Toney Fan LOUD AND PROUD!!!!!.......I thought Toney would have won a decision..Learned from the past fight....IMO he did but also did not expect Peter to come in like he did...Lighter, more active and starting to add some moves to his repitour. I was dis appointed in the result. Not realy because James lost but because how he lost..He was dominated...Forget Peters size and power Toney has the skill just to outbox him and could not get the job done..His fault he should have taken it more serious....He is still a legend and all time great....

He knew he lost that fight. You could see it by the expression on his face soon as it was over..before the announcement but with Toney being Toney you know he wasn't going to admit it thats why he started going off about some freaking thing on never being knocked out.....

IMO James Toney is an a** of a person when talking but he is still a great fighter and I admire him for his skills over the years...Never for anything he say's

On another note I am DAMN impressed with Peter...Not so much that he won that was no upset but...(The upset was Toney performed worse this fight instead of better)...He is adding so much to his style...boxing more..I loved when he mocked Toney falling off balance...Especially with all the S*** Toney talked to him Sam has been nothing but a gentleman....I like how Sam ducked out of the corner in the 10th showing he can box at times...This guy is getting better everytime out...His chin is granite!!!!...and he is humble.....A true professional...after the fight he did not brag about his win...He did not talk trash about the champions..Rather he paid them compliments...I like this guy and hope he wins the title..we need more like him in the sport

I'm a Toney fan but Peter deserves his credit. He came so far since the last fight, hopefully this will keep him motivated and he'll just keep improving.

Yup. He's done. You could tell in the first round he has nothing left. The fork that has been filling his mouth has finally gotten stuck in his back.

BTW- I'm a big Toney fan. He got his ass kicked. Age finally caught up with him, and somehow, Sam Peter learned box in the last few months. Toney also pissed me off by not giving Peter credit, but I guess that's just part of the J-Fat package.

Toney's comments after the fight suggest the possibilty of some brain damage. Talk about disrespect. Peter, on the other hand, was a breath of fresh ait in this era of trash talk.

I'm right here and your point?? James Toney is a Fukin legend whether you like it or not and is an all time great, you dont like his mouth?? Mute your television.. Toney got screwed in the 1st fight and by the sound of it he got dominated and dropped once in this fight.. not bad for a guy who was a middleweight-Supermiddleweight great to move up and make hell with a 250lb explosive fisted fighter.. The same fighter that dropped Klit 3x so show some respect.. Klit will never even come close to forging a legacy even close to James. James Hall of Fame plaque was reserved along time ago my man..
Yep Very Well said JTRock. He has been a great fighter and im stunned he even lost this tbh with you, but shit happens, i just hope he retires now and enjoys a very wealthy retirement and he can eat eat and motherfooking eat until his heart is content without the need for training. Thanks for the memories big J, hang them up!
