The truth of the matter is boxing was fighting itself in the 70s instead of fighting the problem. The anti Boxing brigade and bad press which stopped kids using Boxing gyms because of safety.We didnt gather our facts, where the brigade made some up. In the period from 71 to 78 Britain lost 100,000 amateur boxers the damage had been done. Now we are told Boxing is the safest contact sport out there, that neurosurgeons are more alarmed about football and Rugby than Boxing, we have all heard about it in the press. Have we fuck why not what are the Boards of control doing about it. I once a week train kickboxers on punch technique, every one of them wanted to box but the parents wouldnt let them all because of boxings apathey to the situation.

CC right back. I honestly wouln't be all that surprised if Floyd comes out of that fight untouched. While everyone was praising DLH's showing against Mayorga, I was remebering how everyone thought Tito was back when he did it. Fact is that DLH is much slower than he once was and he looks to have lost some agility. The only thing that gives him a chance is that he is probably stronger than ever right now. At least it seemed that way to me.

Football is absolutely dangerous. I give much props to them for taking such a beating. Head, body, legs all go in football. From head on running blows too. My Mother doesn't want me boxing.

cc Hey man! Yeah. UFC is pretty hot right now. I know already because they consistently beat our boxing ppv's already and they pack the bars at our town. I see hot white chicks watching that gay porn wrestling UFC always ends up being. haha Once I saw these white chicks watching MMA, I knew it was the next thing.

UFC is hot, but it isn't THAT big. I could be. HBO doesn't even help ESPN The Contender out, because it consider's itself "above that." But it sticks it's hand out to UFC?

HBO doesn't even need UFC. It makes money, IT WILL man. But Time Warner isn't desperate about money. The money UFC will generate won't turn Time Warner into a powerhouse money making machine THAT IT ALREADY IS. It's just a silly and VERY stupid move by HBO, it loses credibility HBO has earned from so much money and time it has spent to become "Boxing's Network."

And tell ANYONE about Boxing, and they'll know automatically that Boxing is historically connected to America and World Sports. Boxing is THE REAL "American Pastime."

I'm convinced now that HBO is the one of the most incompetent boxing networks ever and played a big part in it's decline. Just one example me and you know about, is force-feeding Floyd, Winky, Jermain Boring Mandatories and easy fights. But after all those boring matchups, I always thought HBO would eventually pull through and do something about the EXTREMELY HOT divisions of Welterweight and Super Lightweight. Instead we are betrayed and end up making room for Midnight UFC.

We can only hope that they stick to their word and make up for all that lost time. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise and hopefully a lesson learned for everyone involved.
