I thought I replied to this already. Guess not.

Haven't seen Zertuche, but Pavlik is pretty good. He is pretty solid on offense fundamentally, with a very sharp straight right hand. He also has a very sneaky left hook which he times beautifully. When he puts the two together in succession it's a beautiful thing. It should be a coming out party of sorts for Pavlik because from what I've heard Zertuche is made for him.

    cc#544 amat,
Really nice guy, always smiling to this day if you see the fight you'll know what I mean.

    Loving the new sig.
Everytime I see it I swear I could literally hear Ali yelling the only way he knows how.

That's pretty cool. Good to know there are some nice guys in the sport.

And I love the picture. Probably my favorite Ali picture ever. Put it on my Myspace and everything. Here is the full picture.

Agreed. Pavlik has all the tools...but he's being handled a bit too...kid-i-ly.

Thing is...it's a double edged sword with me. He's not fighting complete bums...but even Duddy (whom I do not rate) stepped up & fought a vet when he matched his raw power against Yory Boy. Pavlik is a much much much more complete fighter than many think. I've followed him for quite sometime...not to say that I know the guy back & front...but I likes what I see.

Only thing that bothers me is his inactivity. He's not been fighting as often as some of the other champs & contenders...for example Abraham, Sturm, & Miranda.

The big thing about Pavlik is that he does have power & he does know how to throw his punches in bunches...I just hope that he aint taking this guy lightly. I don't know S*** about him...admittedly...but his record aint bad...then again...it aint all that either.

Lately...alot of up & coming second tier fighters are proving to be more than bargained for & upsets seem to be budding around every corner.

Urango, Collazo, Taylor, & others keep on shocking the world by throwing out good shots against the veterans & stars.

Agreed. That "lollipop kid" S*** is just that...the S***. I love it. There's very little uniquness and originality left in this world...that kid hit the nail on the head & he's got heart & fists to boot...sorry...but I'm 100% in his corner. I aint ashamed to admit that I was late coming on to the Arce train...but win lose or draw...I'm riding it to the end.

He brings fun back to the sport...nothing like a blood drooling cowboy hat wearing lollipop chewin Mexican half pint warrior to rejuvenate the game.

Thing is babe...wer'e probably the only Drunken Round by Round on the net. :P Heh heh heh...but I feels the love! Cheers & koneecheewah!

Damn right...Wacko's wasted...been painting the bedroom & den to match the new $3899 worth of furniture that the wife slammed me with!
We'll see what what happens when Pavlik fights someone who makes him dig deep down, alter his style, make adjustments, and show heart. I know you don't rate Duddy, he's far ahead of where Pavlik was at 18 fights. He KO'd in 1 round Pavlik's last opponent in his 8th fight.

I saw something in the Campas fight that chanced my opinion on Duddy. For the first 5 rounds, he tried to walk through Yory Boy like he's walked through everyone else. Then he figured out that needed to dust off his abandoned boxing skill that's he's not been using. He hasn't needed them, not until Yory Boy fought him like a man possessed. People say Duddy don't have skill, but if you what the 2nd have of the Campas fight, he shows he has some skills.

Agreed...Duddy is ahead...but not that far. I want to see Pavlik fight someone with a heart beat also.

I think that Pavlik's riding high on a mediocre record...same goes for Duddy also. Duddy has power & all that...but it's just what you like & how you like your boxing. I like a little more technical skills than just the stand & brawl will of Duddy. There's nothing wrong with that...I just like a little more brilliance than batter.

Don't get me wrong...Duddy is exciting...because you just never know what your'e gonna get or when your'e gonna get it from him.

Indeed...I was impressed with how Duddy handled Campas at the end...thing is...Yory Boy is a bit of a spent fighter these days & he held pretty strong against Duddy. Duddy has skills...he's just a bit unrefined.

I think that he needs to be marketed a bit carefully in the future. Same could be said for Pavlik...we shall see.

Agreed. Yory Boy is a bit spent, but he showed up that night to win, spent or not, and even spent, Campas is better than anyone Pavlik has faced. Don't get me wrong, I like Pavlik and I hope that he's for real. From what I've seen of him, he looks good, but it bothers me a little so someone with his kind of record has only one decent opponent. As someone who likes Pavlik, I'm a little scared that if he gets a "megafight" after Zertuche, the jump up will be too much for him. It's like a baseball pitcher who dominates A-ball, skips AA and AAA and ends up in the bigs (i'm sure there is a soccer equivant to the minor leagues, for my british friends . The jump is too much, and he might never recover. I think Duddy's handlers are doing a good job of bringing him up one notch at a time. Pavliks people wasted a lot of time building up his record against crappy jobbers.

    Good post. Well spoken.

As I said above...all the middles seem to have several little flaws here & there that add up to big things.

I want to see Pavlik go on to bigger & better things...but like you...I got me doubts...& you're dead on the head...his people indeed wasted an assload of time building up his record against a buncha turd burglars.

C.C. for the RBR, man. Unfortunately I'm slumin it with no H.B.O. and I'm a big Pavlik fan. I just really hope he steps it up after this fight and takes on Miranda. They're the two of the most interesting fighters in the M.W. division I.M.O.

CC for this RBR wack! I love Arce and Pavlik interests me,but as I have not seen much of him,he is somewhat of an unknown quantity. However,as big a fan I am of Arce,he needs to step up his competition this yeat with either the grissly over rated Darchinyan or Matin Castillo. As for Pavlik,I can't really say....may be a steady increase in competition leading to a fight with Miranda?

I'm looking forward to this one, 4 hours to go and counting. 2 Nice KO's for Pavlik and Arce IMO.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
