Winky Wright wants the winner as well, I don't know if GBP or Mayweather would be up for that though.

Wow. 2007 is already shaping up to be a good good year.
I have a feeling it's gonna be a one sided fight. Probably in favour of Cotto.
I have never been sold on Margarito. And I think Tony's supporters want Margarito to be better than he actually is. (But then again, some could say the same for Cotto...)
I don't know if Tony's gonna be able to catch Cotto with his wild looping punches. But if he does, it'll also be interesting to see how Miguel takes it.
So if Tony could catch him early, it might be one sided in his favour. I dunno.
Regardless, I have a feeling it's gonna be a one sided fight launching the winner into the forefront and the loser exposed into the dust.
Let's see who's the real deal.

I sure hope I'm way off and it's a close barnburner of a scrap, though.

Margarito is tough without question and he has a great chin but Cotto's bread and butter is body work for which there isn't much recovery. Also Tony is a high volume puncher but he is also very slow so I can see Cotto finding openings and putting him away in the later rounds.

To be fair, Cotto did very well at 140 to say he was SO weight drained in so many fights, a lot of his weaknesses at 140 have disappeared at welterweight, which is a compliment, to fight so well at 140 with the weight drain shows just how talented he is.
I'm just talking about his mechanics and everything. He was just walking in straight without throwing, backing up straight without circling/punching, ect. He was really just a one dimensional fighter in that fight and I think the same about the Branco fight. He was winning big but wasn't really impressing me.

But versus Quintana it was like watching a different fighter. Instead of keeping his hands at his ears and moving in, he mixed in some straight rights coming forward, he let go the left hook pulling out and he just did the things in between fighting inside/outside. Margarito and all the other good boxers could really hurt you if you're not careful pulling out or going in. Miguel seemed to solve those problems. IMO, Cotto is now a championship caliber fighter.

I think people are going overboard on Cotto a little. Yes it was a great performance against Quintana but he's not always looked so invincible.

I still fancy Margarito to pull of a suprise here, and I sure as hell don't think Cotto can stop Margarito.

I don't think either will be able to stop the other so it should be a 12 round war.

    EDIT

Thinking about it though, isn't Cotto like only 5 ft 7?

I'm guessing Margarito must be around 6 ft so it could be possible that he can keep Cotto at the end of his jab for much of the fight.

Actually I think Margarito could well be the favourite once they get in the ring. He's a big lad after all.
    Maybe if he had one....
