Thats right, he does not. But he is pretty polished though.
Still think Margarito would walk through him.

Williams is brave but i dont think he's tough. Plus he does not hit hard at all.... Thats why i dont see him going further than 154.

    Just because he's 30 and 0 doesn't mean he's flawless

When your bound to loose, your height, reach, power, stamina will not save you.
    Thats just part of destiny.

Margarito lose a lopsided UD. But I don't think Williams uses his height to his advantage. He's really good in the pocket "fighting small" and throwing short punches but with that type of reach and physique, you'd expect a sick ass jab and a monster straight. Manny Steward should take this guy under his wing.

No, he is more of a stylest. Tommy was a bomber. There are few who could ever fight like Tommy and I never would say PW could, but give him time, and he could be the future. I believe he would starch Magaraito who gets way too much credit for his very ordinary skills. Cotto and PW would be a fight for the ages with thier opposte styles.

He may be tall like Tommy...He may have a longer reach than Tommy but thats where all the simularities stop.........Because even though he is 30-0 he sure as hell don't fight like Tommy!!!!

I've only seen two Williams fights, his last two and to be honest I'm not overly impressed.

Against Sharmba Mitchell he was caught flush several times and his next fight against a complete unknown who took the fight at only 24 hours notice was something of an embarresment.

Mitchell completely and utterly outboxed the kid, landing punches at will, (which was great obviously) but his punches were so lacking in power that the referee couldn't find a reason to stop it for several rounds.

I agree with those who think Margarito would just walk through him.

Granted, he's tall, incredibably awkward and throws volume punches. He could outbox virtually anyone at the weight.

BUT to me his downfall is that he seems to have very little punch power, and looks about as sturdy as a KFC hotwing.

I'd fancy Margarito or Cotto to break him apart inside 10 rounds.

Although i have to say i do think the ref should of stopped it earlier. It was clear the other guy was loving just taking the punishment.

Who was Williams supposed to fight anyway?

Yep I agree, but that was why it was embarrasing for Williams. The other guy was being picked apart at will and the referee clearly wanted to end the fight, but Williams although he was landing with everything, couldn't hurt him enough to warrant the fight being called sooner. Williams has no punching power.

It's interesting as well that Pakau had been knocked out in his previous two fights as well, including a 1st round KO defeat to Randall Bailey, a fighter who CAN punch just a few months before.

    Tony Pepp was 6'2 !

..and Hatton still stopped him in 5 round and broke his rib for good measure.

Hatton is 5'6 by the way.

My point is, a long skinny arm wont through a hook as good as a short muscular arm.

And as mentioned by others, if a beast like say, Miguel Cotto or Andre Burto banged away to the rib, Williams would crumble like a breadstick.

by enlarge I would agree, however this kid Williams is a bit different , he gets good leverage on his hooks.. fantastic hand speed. very good in-fighting skills . I think shorter fighters in that weight class will find it very un nerving on the inside with this cat. Paul has what it takes to win those up close battles ..

I like how Williams aggressively times his opponent as he tries to get close ! not one or two punches and run, like most rangy fighter , but meaningful combinations designed to close the show !
